Andy Samberg Has MTV Movie Awards Hosting Tips For Jason Sudeikis

'Make sure 'Twilight' wins everything so the crowd is lively,' he tells his 'SNL' castmate before he hosts the June 5 show.
By Eric Ditzian

Andy Samberg slayed the crowd as host of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. He shared a naked limo ride with Justin Timberlake, pronounced himself "the best intro-er of people intro-ing things" and lampooned action movies in a hilarious video in which he crooned, ''Cool guys don't look at explosions. They blow things up and then walk away.''

The "Saturday Night Live" star, in other words, knows a thing or two about hosting the wackiest movie awards show on the planet. And thus, he's got some sage advice for "SNL" castmate Jason Sudeikis, who's taking on emcee duties for this year's show, airing live on June 5 — not that he thinks Sudeikis needs much help.

"What advice can you give to a guy that has it all?" Samberg said when we caught up with him and his Lonely Island pals while they were promoting their upcoming comedy album, Turtleneck & Chain.

"Be yourself, grab 'em by the scruff of the neck and don't let go," he went on to advise Sudeikis. "Wear a nice suit. Hydrate. Crunches. Make sure 'Twilight' wins everything so the crowd is lively. Rig the results!"

Hmmm, that's one way of doing it. Another way would be to follow the helpful tips of Aziz Ansari, who hosted the Movie Awards last year. "It's so much work, so definitely have a lot of uppers on hand, like just drugs that'll get you fired up," he joked to us recently. "PCP is good to stay up all night, get all the work done. It's a cool thing, though; it's back in vogue. It's like Twitter, PCP. It's like trendy things: Twitter, PCP, Jonas Brothers."

The MTV Movie Awards nominees — based on your votes at MovieAwards.MTV.com — will be announced Tuesday, at which point you'll be able to vote for your favorite films and stars in categories like Best Fight, Best Kiss, Biggest Badass Star, Best Villain and, of course, Best Movie. Voting will continue through June 4, though Best Movie will remain open throughout the live ceremony on June 5 — meaning you'll have a chance to affect the night's biggest prize until the very last minute.

The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards air live Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET.

Dominic Cooper Talks Playing Saddam's Son In 'Devil's Double'

Actor opens up to MTV News about dual roles as murderous Uday Hussein and his hapless body double, in our Summer Movie Preview.
By Josh Wigler

Dominic Cooper in "Devil's Double"

The reign of Saddam Hussein is mostly in the collective rearview mirror, but for Dominic Cooper it's still very much in the present.

Cooper stars in this summer's "The Devil's Double," the Lee Tamahori-directed historical gangster flick that tells the story of Saddam's murderous son Uday and his reluctant body double, Latif Yahia. Appropriately enough, Cooper's pulls double-duty as both Uday and Latif, delivering a two-pronged performance that swings between psychotic mania and indescribable tragedy. And as moviegoers will no doubt observe in the just-released trailer, getting into those two divergent headspaces could not have been an easy task.

With "The Devil's Double" arriving in theaters on July 29, now's the perfect time to get the inside track on what's sure to be one of the can't-miss movie affairs of the summer. To that end, MTV News spoke with Cooper about playing Uday and Latif as part of our continuing Summer Movie Preview.

MTV: What drew you to "The Devil's Double"? Was it the opportunity to tap into these two different roles? The chance to explore this fairly recent period of history?

Dominic Cooper: Yeah, you know, it is such an interesting period of time. It seems so apparent to us, so much to do with our recent history, really, that area with regards to the war and that regime. But I didn't know enough. To sort of get inside of it and to see what this was all about and the world in which [the Husseins] existed, for me, was really intriguing. I wanted to know more.

And the opportunity to work with [director Lee Tamahori] — once I met him, I was blown away by his energy and his vision of what the piece should be. It wasn't meant to be an accurate historical reference to those people and that period of time; it was very clouded, what the actual truth is. But he saw this incredible dynamic between an evil man and a poor guy who was thrown into a situation he couldn't get out of. That dynamic and that conflict, he found so riveting, as did I.

MTV: Just judging by the trailer, this doesn't seem like an easy project to take on.

Cooper: It wasn't. It was chaos filming it; there wasn't much time to do it, and with the technology of having to double me up and the speed with which that had to be done and the change of character I had to do in a matter of moments ... it wasn't easy.

But I remember thinking, 'This is very special for me. No matter what people think of it and no matter who sees it and no matter how it turns out, these parts come along rarely.' I just absorbed every moment of it really and enjoyed playing out being a kid — because Uday was basically a child gone wrong, but one who had access to everything with no one stopping him. I was running around with golden guns and Ferraris ... it was an odd experience! Playing out this gangster role, knowing that this man did ruin and destroy people's lives and families without any remorse or forward thinking. He was just all-out evil, Uday was. It was very complicated, playing a character that you have no empathy for.

MTV: So were you ever able to get yourself to that point, a place where you could empathize with a man like Uday?

Cooper: No, not really. [Laughs.] The wonderful thing was having Latif to play as a sympathetic character. After being this monster for days in and days out, it was nice to play something genuine and heartfelt and sort of emotionally raw rather than this savage person. I suppose in terms of strength and understanding, on some level, I had to comprehend what it must have been like for [Uday] as a child, growing up in that regime and having Saddam as a father, not being acknowledged by his father. I don't think he trusted him to take his position, to run a country, with military decisions. All of those things, if you think about them, it's why he killed his father's best friends. He was desperate for attention. He was never given enough. That was a way in for me, to try and comprehend the monstrosities that he took part in.

MTV: From a technical standpoint, how did you do this? What was the process of playing these two characters?

Cooper: Technically, some of the scenes where both of us were in the shot, we'd have a motion-controlled camera. I'd film a scene dressed as and behaving as Uday, and it would replicate the move exactly so you could double the screen up and put it over the top. I would have to guess or work out where I was standing for the other character, which was sometimes very difficult, because Uday takes up a lot of space; he's very manic, he moves around a lot, and we'd have to try and pinpoint where the eye-lines would be. It's quite complicated, really. I was basically acting to nothing, remembering the performance I was doing as that person. It wasn't easy, but again, it was so creative and in the moment because on-the-spot decisions were being made. I think a lot of the time, instead of too much thinking, you kind of go with your instincts and our wonderful cameraman's instincts, and I think it turned out better for it.

MTV: "Devil's Double" hits theaters in July, right in the midst of a very crowded summer-movie season filled with superheroes, robots and what have you. For you, what makes "Devil's Double" stand out in a sea of blockbusters?

Cooper: Well, I think it's the fact that this is not a blockbuster, in a way. [Laughs.] They're visually stunning, those films, but ultimately it depends on whether you want complete escapism — to believe that there are green monsters coming down from Mars and superheroes are flying around the sky, which is wonderful and exciting — or whether you want some sort of reality-based reference to a man who actually existed.

I think Latif's story is exhilarating. How could anyone have ever lived through that? It's so far from where we are, seeing how Baghdad functioned, this lavish and overwhelming lifestyle that these people led. There's a true horror of what went on within it. But at the same time, Lee's made it action-packed and fast moving and sexy in a way. It has all of those elements. It's a gangster film rather than a historical documentation. You're just amazed that anybody ever went through this.

Check out everything we've got on "The Devil's Double."

Lindsay Lohan Surveillance-Video Preview Airs

'Entertainment Tonight' obtained 45 minutes of footage from the jewelry store accusing Lohan of stealing a $2,500 necklace.

Over the weekend, it was reported that surveillance footage had been sold by the Venice, California, jewelry store accusing Lindsay Lohan of stealing a $2,500 necklace. And on Monday night (March 7), "Entertainment Tonight" aired the first snippets from the four security cameras, showing the actress trying on jewelry and texting.

The show, which has 45 minutes of footage, will air video of Lohan wearing the necklace in question during Tuesday's show.

The surveillance videos were sold to The Associated Press by the jewelry store, Kamofie &Co.; the AP then licensed the footage exclusively to "Entertainment Tonight." The website NecklaceVideo.com has been registered with the intention to post the full security footage online at a later date.

Lohan was charged with felony grand theft last month after allegedly taking the necklace from the store on January 22. The actress faces up to three years in prison if convicted. During another hearing last month, Judge Keith Schwartz told Lohan that she would definitely go to jail for probation violation if she accepts a plea deal of any kind.

"One of the things about me is that I treat everybody the same," Schwartz warned the actress. "What I look to in sentencing is, 'What is the prior record?' In this particular case, there has been so much speculation in the press [that] I'm just going to tell you a couple of things: If you plead in front of me, you are going to jail. There might be an issue about the amount of time, but if the case settles here, you will be going to jail."

Lohan is due back in court on Thursday.

'Rio' Continues To Dance At #1 Over Holiday Weekend

'Madea's Big Happy Family,' 'Water for Elephants' can't shake animated flick from the top of the box office.
By Ryan J. Downey

"Rio"

The box office got a boost from kids over the holiday weekend as "Rio" held on to the top spot with moviegoers and the Easter-themed "Hop" crossed the $100 million mark, according to studio estimates. Overall ticket sales were up 39 percent from the same period last year. Strengthened by 3-D showings, the animated "Rio" earned $26.8 million for a two-week domestic total of $81.2 million.

Filmmaker Tyler Perry has released three movies around Easter, and this year's entry, "Madea's Big Happy Family," sat right in the middle of his scorecard, with a $25.7 million debut ("Meet the Browns" opened with $20.1 million in 2008; "Why Did I Get Married Too?" made $29.3 million last year). But it suffered the lowest debut of any of the entries in his poorly reviewed "Madea" series. Still, that was good enough to take the #2 spot for the weekend.

Robert Pattinson did double the business of his last non-"Twilight" starring role with "Water for Elephants," which debuted with $17.5 million to land at #3 on the box-office tally. Of course, last year's "Remember Me" didn't have Academy Award winners Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz or best-selling source material from novelist Sara Gruen. The romantic drama opened on par with the similarly themed "The Notebook," adjusted for inflation. "Elephants" has split critics almost down the middle, according to movie review website Rotten Tomatoes.

"Hop" jumped 16 percent from last weekend (it is, after all, about the Easter Bunny) with $12.4 million to land at number four. The live-action/animation hybrid has made $100.5 million in four weeks and joined Adam Sandler's "Just Go With It" ($102.6 million) and the year's top-grossing movie "Rango" ($119.5), on the very short list of movies to have earned over $100 million in 2011 thus far.

All of the prior entries in the "Scream" franchise grossed over $100 million or close to it ("Scream 3" made $89.1 million in 2000), but "Scream 4" won't come anywhere close to that mark. The self-referential horror sequel dropped 57 percent in its second weekend of release, earning $7.1 million to land at #5 on the chart with $31.1 million total. Meanwhile, the little $1.5 million horror movie "Insidious" from "Saw" director James Wan has made $44.1 million in four weeks.

Next week's new releases include "Fast Five" (currently the best-reviewed of the action franchise); the animated "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil"; Disney's tween-friendly "Prom"; comic-book-based "Dylan Dog: Dead of Night," starring former "Superman" Brandon Routh; and actor Mark Ruffalo's directorial debut, "Sympathy for Delicious."

'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2' Trailer Debuts

Highly anticipated clip shows mysterious Snape, Harry's mother, Lily, and several other key scenes.
By Terri Schwartz

There's been a lot of build up to the first trailer for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," from the sneak peeks at new footage to a whole slew of new photos to the opening scene being posted online. Fortunately, the trailer that premiered Wednesday (April 27) on ABC Family made good on all of the hype and surpassed our expectations.

The most exciting and perhaps most surprising thing about the scenes featured in the new trailer is the focus on Snape and his significant flashback sequence. In the opening moments, not only is Snape shown in the now-recognizable scene outside of the Potters' home in Godric's Hollow. But there are also several other key moments included here, including one of Harry's mother, Lily, growing a lily in her palm (a reference to a story Horace Slughorn told in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince").

With the majority of "Deathly Hallows, Part 2" set to focus on the final showdown between Harry and his nemesis, Voldemort, it comes as no shock that most of the trailer showcases plenty of new sequences from the epic last battle. It definitely looks like "Part 2" will have the best fight scenes to date from the series, be it when hundreds of wizards hurtle spells at Hogwarts' defenses, when the statues in Hogwarts come to life to defend the castle, or when Voldemort walks through a room of dead wizards.

But some of the scenes are more poignant than others. Ron weeping over his brother's dead body, Narcissa Malfoy looking troubled (maybe because of a decision she makes in regard to Harry?), Tonks in the midst of fighting and Molly Weasley throwing an attack spell are moments that should resonate with fans of the series or just heighten the excitement for those who've only seen the movies and don't know what's coming next. Harry's line, "I never wanted any of you to die for me," should tug at plenty of heart strings.

There are other extended sequences of previously seen scenes too. Several sequences showing the dragon at the Gringott's breakout have been added into the mix and a longer look at the destruction of the Room of Requirements blends in nicely with the action from the final battle.

But the shots of Snape will likely be considered to be some of the most thrilling in the trailer. It's nice that Warner Bros. is recognizing just how significant a character he is in "Deathly Hallows, Part 2," and using the mystery surrounding him — Is Snape good or is Snape evil? — as the primary vehicle for heightening anticipation for the film.

Check out everything we've got on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2."

My Chemical Romance Unsure If Killjoys Will Return In 'Bulletproof Heart' Video

Gerard Way tells MTV News Danger Days story should have 'a gap.'
By James Montgomery

My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way
Photo: MTV News

When we last left the Killjoys, they were dead — gunned down at the conclusion of My Chemical Romance's video for "Sing." That clip was a continuation of the DayGlo outlaws' assault on the nefarious Better Living Industries, a campaign first launched in the "Na Na Na" video and one that's central to the theme of the band's Danger Days album.

Since the Killjoys met their untimely demise, MCR have released a J-Pop-indebted video for "Planetary (Go!)" and remained mum on plans for just where Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys would go next. Fans have been clamoring for updates, but from the sound of things, they might have to wait a bit longer.

Because while My Chemical Romance are already making plans to shoot a video for their next single, "Bulletproof Heart," they're still not sure whether the clip will pick up the story of the Killjoys, or if they're going to keep fans waiting for the next chapter.

" 'Bulletproof Heart' we're actually still talking about, and we're not definitely sure yet if it's going to go back to that world," MCR frontman Gerard Way told MTV News. "Actually, I think that's almost cooler to stretch it out as long as we can, because, again, the story is so not important. The things that happened in those videos are really just metaphors for the way we saw the world, or stuff that really happened. Everything from hanging out with this crazy kid to getting shot in the head to all this stuff, it's all metaphorical.

"I like a gap [in the story]; I think it should be a gap," he continued. "And then I think that when you do get that final part, when the right song comes along, I don't know that it'll make perfect sense. It's not supposed to."

So, yes, Way realizes fans are dying for an update on the Killjoys' condition — he's heard the complaints, after all — but he's still not sure the band will go back to California 2019 for "Bulletproof Heart." Then again, it's still early. And those complaints can be compelling.

"[The video concept] is so green right now, and we've gone through so many things," Way said. "It's really weird: People started to get disappointed. They're like, 'Aw, I thought they were making that video!' and it's like, 'Well, no, we never spent the money!' "

Usher Gets Sick, Walks Offstage Mid-Show In Berlin

Singer cancels kick off date of European leg of his OMG Tour due to illness.

Usher was forced to delay the kick off of his European OMG Tour on Wednesday night in Berlin because of illness. In a statement released to fans, the singer apologized for the last-minute scratch, saying he felt he was suffering from a "sinus complication." Although the gig was rescheduled for Thursday night at the O2 World arena in Berlin, his German fans apparently weren't appeased by his effort.

"I am truly sorry to all my fans in Berlin who were inconvenienced by tonight's postponement of the show," the singer said in a statement about Wednesday's aborted concert. "I was ill and felt that I would not have been able to give them the show that they properly deserve. ... I am looking forward to performing tomorrow and giving Berliners a great show."

According to the statement, the singer received treatment from doctors for a sinus issue that affected his balance, but a visibly still-ailing Usher was unable to finish the Thursday make-up show, reportedly abandoning the stage after just five songs.

On Friday (January 14), a follow-up statement from his spokesperson confirmed that he was too ill to play Thursday night's Berlin date and has been forced to reschedule the next three dates on the tour as well. The Rotterdam show originally scheduled for this week has been moved to March 1 and a show in Antwerp, also slated for this week, has been bumped to March 7.

The statement also updated the singer's condition: "Usher is suffering from upper respiratory illness, which is currently preventing him from performing a proper show. After consultation with doctors, he has been advised to reschedule the upcoming dates in order to get the rest he needs to ensure a complete recovery."

Footage posted on YouTube that was purportedly taken at the make-up performance in Berlin shows Usher standing silently at the microphone seemingly unable to sing, with fans booing him at first and then chanting, "Usher, Usher," as he approaches the microphone and apologizes to them for his struggles. "I appreciate your support," he told the fans wearily.

"I have been very excited about my European Tour and I deeply regret having to reschedule the shows," the singer said in the new statement. "I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans. My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting better so that I can give them the show they deserve."

Usher wrapped up the North American leg of his tour in December and his overseas dates are slated to last through the spring.

What do you think of the fans' reaction to Usher's walking offstage mid-show? Tell us in the comments.

Katy Perry Sees 'All Kinds Of Emotions' In Her Fans

'It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes,' she tells MTV News of looking out at the crowd during California Dreams Tour.

Katy Perry is currently on her California Dreams Tour, inspiring fans with anthems like "Firework." But, as it turns out, Perry is just as inspired by her fans as they are by her.

"It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes," she tells MTV News of looking out into the audience every night on her tour. "Sometimes I see all kinds of emotions. It's a lot of emotion.

"It's lovely, too, because I love people that are passionate about life and music in general," she continued. "Music has been such a helping tool for me to get through so many things. That's why I write a lot of times, is to continue to evolve as a person, and I can see the same thing has happened with other people; they've just adopted the song for themselves."

What's also inspiring Perry these days is outer space. She headed out of this world for her just-released "E.T." video, and she credits her new wave of fans for finally embracing the pop singer, allowing her the opportunity to be truly creative.

"It's pretty exciting that I have the opportunities now to work with great directors and have 100 percent of my voice heard," she said. "That's always been the challenge as an artist, is for other people to jump onboard and see your vision correctly. And that's why, sometimes, it's hard for me to break out, especially on other labels, because my vision was always so strong, and I think with Teenage Dream, the record on a whole, I knew I wanted to give so many different flavors, so many different ideas and just make a different movie for each song, and I feel like I've done that."

Michael Jackson's Family Upset With James Durbin Over 'American Idol' Pepsi Quip

'We were shocked to see this,' read the Jacksons' message; Durbin tweeted an apology on Thursday.

Some people might argue that it's patently unfair to take rank amateurs, put them on the biggest show on TV and then expose them to potential worldwide ridicule every week. Because it's one thing to tune in to "American Idol" from your living room or play shows at the local wings joint, it's another thing entirely when you get up on that stage and open your mouth with tens of millions watching and listening.

James Durbin learned this lesson the hard way this week when he made what he thought was an innocent crack about not setting himself on fire during his pyro-tastic cover of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" on Wednesday night.

Asked by host Ryan Seacrest if he was worried about dancing around among the flames shooting up from the piano onstage, Durbin joked, "I have a lot of hairspray in my hair to keep it from jumping around — so much so, the one thing I was worried about was having a 'Pepsi moment.' "

The seemingly innocent crack was a reference to the 1984 on-set accident in which late pop icon Michael Jackson was badly burned during the shooting of a Pepsi commercial by some wayward pyro effects. The serious burns he suffered in the incident allegedly led to his longtime addiction to pain medication and prescription drugs.

The Jackson family was not amused by the quip and sent a statement to TMZ on Thursday.

"We were shocked to see this. It's nothing to make light of and everybody should be focusing on who was responsible for Michael's death," read the statement. Family patriarch Joseph Jackson also was reportedly miffed that "Idol" producers did not cut the comment from the West Coast feed of the show.

Durbin defended his slip-up in a tweet, which has since been scrubbed from the singer's official "Idol" Twitter feed, that explained, "For anyone talkin ... I said pepsi NOT MJ! I have no disrespect for Michael. I grew up singing his art. I guess youll take it how you want it." He later added, "Talkin about MJs passing is too soon. Making a reference to an incident 25 years ago..not too soon. The stab was at pepsi people."

It's worth noting that Pepsi's bitter rival, Coca-Cola, is the main "Idol" sponsor, a fact that Seacrest reminded Durbin of in an awkward moment after the comment on the show.

What did you think of James Durbin's "Pepsi" quip? Tell us in the comments.

Katy Perry's 'E.T.' Video Premieres -- Watch It Now!

New clip with Kanye West is a big-budget spectacle that takes Perry to the next level.
By James Montgomery

We've seen Katy Perry camp it up in "California Gurls" and go glam in "Thinking of You" and "Teenage Dream," but we've never seen her get extraterrestrial — until now, of course.

Because in her new video for "E.T." — which premiered Thursday (March 31) on MTV.com — Perry plays the titular alien: a swirling, shifting, otherworldly being who crashes to earth to resurrect a long-dormant love and, in the process, perhaps reboot the human race (since, as is often the case with sci-fi exploits, planet Earth has undergone some sort of cataclysmic apocalypse and is now bereft of life). At least, I think that's the plot of the thing, though, really, it's not all that important if I'm wrong. Find out the full story tonight on "MTV First: Katy Perry's 'E.T.'," which bows on air at 7:53 p.m. ET before tossing to an MTV.com live stream, featuring MTV News correspondent Sway's exclusive chat with Perry, an interview with director Floria Sigismondi and reaction from Perry's fans.

"E.T." is a huge-looking, quick-moving blockbuster of a clip, overflowing with eye-catching special effects, opulent costumes and artfully applied makeup (and Kanye cameos), the kind of production where a plot is basically an afterthought. In other words, it's a Hollywood-level spectacle, a summer smash that just so happened to come out in the early days of spring. It's an event.

And really, with each #1 single she notches, it's the kind of clip Katy Perry has earned, one that puts her on par with other pop megastars like Britney and Gaga in the sheer scope of the production.

Working with acclaimed director Floria Sigismondi, Perry has created a video that certainly ranks among her very best and is unquestionably the biggest thing she's ever done, a production preceded by glossy teaser clips and online "abductions." The mind boggles at the cost of the wardrobe and hair extensions alone.

But, much like the plot, none of that really matters. "E.T." is less about the insignificant details and more about the larger picture — a video that not only moves Perry to the upper echelon, but looks and sounds great. It's a widescreen, THX-ian type of thing, meant to be marveled at. Whether or not you do, you can't deny that KP has earned the right to make it. She's finally arrived: fallen from the heavens to take her rightful place among the elite. Welcome our new alien overlord.

What did you think of Katy's new video? Let us know in the comments!

Don't miss the on-air premiere of Katy Perry's "E.T." video, featuring Kanye West, at 7:53 p.m. ET tonight on MTV, followed by our live "MTV First" interview with Katy Perry on MTV.com!

On Wednesday (March 30), Justin Bieber shared with his fans the DVD release date for his flick, "Never Say Never." So, when will fans be able to experience Bieber in 3-D in the comfort of their own homes?

"So here is the big news they were waiting for me to announce to u once off stage ... Thanks to everyone for seeing #NSN3D around the world! so we are ... OFFICIALLY getting #NEVERSAYNEVER3D to Blu-ray & DVD May13th," he tweeted. "Preorder NOW."

He also had another special announcement for a few lucky fans who purchase a special version of the flick, adding, "And I'm signing some for my fans! #MUCHLOVE."

Aside from what fans already saw in theaters, the Blu-ray/DVD combo features a dance-off between Bieber and his crew, the full-length performance of "Favorite Girl," Bieber's team surprising fans with free tickets and a sendoff for JB's old swoop hairstyle.

Fans already came out to see the flick when it hit theaters in February, helping to solidify its status as one of the highest-grossing documentaries of all time. This will mark the third release for the film, which hit theaters twice already.

Regarding the film's message, Bieber explained to MTV News, "People didn't really know, they didn't understand that I've been playing music ever since I was born, and it's always been in me. And this movie is really going to show that I'm not just some packaged thing that some A&R put together. It was actually just me living my dream and just making music.

"Fans will be really excited to see that I'm just a regular 16-year-old having fun, just living my dream," he said. "And it's possible for anyone to live theirs."

The film shows Bieber skillfully playing piano, drums and guitar. It is part concert film, part documentary, complete with interviews from some of the people closest to the teen phenom. It features cameos by Miley Cyrus, Usher and Ludacris, among others, in interviews and concert performances filmed at Madison Square Garden last year.

Beyonce Drops Official Version Of 'Run The World (Girls)'

In the first single off her upcoming album, B warns the haters that she's in charge.

Beyoncé dropped the official version of her new single "Run the World (Girls)" on Thursday morning (April 21). The track is just under four minutes of sassy, girl-power lyrics paired with marching-band beats and club appeal.

The song is loud and proud in its relentless message: Beyoncé and girls everywhere are in charge now. B is clearly rallying the troops to her side in this first single off her forthcoming summer album release.

"Girls, we run this motha," she announces at the song's opening. Soon, the beat takes off and looped Auto-Tuned vocals complement Beyoncé's feel-good call and response of "Who run the world? Girls."

The verses that follow sound like a warning to any of the haters. "Some of them men think they freak this like we do/ But no they don't/ Make your checks come at they neck/ Disrespect us, no they won't/ This goes out to all my girls that's in the club rocking the latest/ Who will buy it for themselves and get more money later," Beyoncé sings in a choppy, emphatic style.

"I think I need a barber/ None of these ho's can fight me/ I'm so good with this/ I remind you I'm so 'hood with this," she goes on, before briefly transitioning to smoother, more persuasive, but still boastful vocals.

The song is a cleaned-up version of the demo that leaked earlier this week. It was produced by Switch, Beyoncé and Shea Taylor. Beyoncé also co-wrote the track with The-Dream.

Though there's still no word on when the video might drop, its director, Francis Lawrence, has made it clear that the video (which was teased on Wednesday) will be epic. "It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," he explained. "And, I can say that I think the song is unbelievable."

'Bang Bang Club' Star Malin Akerman Talks Photographers' Deaths In Libya

'It is incredible how relevant ... this film is to what is going on in Libya,' she tells MTV News.

Given the recent deaths of photojournalists Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros, who were killed while covering the battles between rebels and Libyan government forces, the subject matter of the new film "The Bang Bang Club" could not be more timely.

The film revolves around the real-life story of four combat photographers who risked their lives to capture the brutality and violence associated with the first free elections in post-apartheid South Africa in the early '90s.

MTV News recently spoke to co-star Malin Akerman about the incredible circumstances now surrounding the film.

"It's crazy. No matter what, whether it be now or two years ago, the untimely death of Tim Hetherington and Chris [Hondros] is sad and really awful and incredible that it happened as this movie is coming out," she said, adding the fact that no matter where we are in time, there are always civil and religious wars raging in the world.

"It's never the wrong moment to shed light on it," Akerman said. "It is incredible how relevant ... this film is to what is going on in Libya. I hope people come out of this film and go, 'All right, let's look overseas and see what's happening and see what we can do.' "

Speaking to what motivates this specific "breed" of journalists to consistently put themselves in harm's way, Akerman said that it's not just about capturing unforgettable events on film, but also about the adrenaline rush.

"They're crazy. They really are adrenaline junkies," she said. "I just saw Greg Marinovich, who is one of the photographers [who inspired the film], and he walks around at all times with two cameras. ... He never leaves home without his cameras. It's a limb for them, it's an extension of their bodies, it's what they live for."

Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash Light Up Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show

Foursome is joined by special guests and tons of lights for smash-hit medley.

The Black Eyed Peas promised a party at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday (February 6), and the pop supernovas definitely delivered, with a performance teeming with lights, dancers and surprise appearances from celebrity pals.

Following a Chatter.com commercial that showed animated versions of the Peas showing off their social-media skills, the group kicked things off with their 2009 smash "I Gotta Feeling," descending from the ceiling on illuminated platforms onto a stage surrounded by a cluster of dancers clad in white bodysuits. The foursome led the team of fist-pumping troops in "Tron"-like getups, with Taboo sporting an outfit covered in flashing lights, will.i.am rocking a shiny hairpiece, Apl.de.ap wearing huge bright studs and Fergie vamping it up in bling-laden shoulder pads.

When the speaker-busting bass of "Boom Boom Pow" dropped, the dancers dispersed across the field to create arrow-shaped formations as the glow-in-the-dark lights on their suits illuminated the stadium. Then rumored surprise guest Slash of Guns N' Roses rose from below the stage for a "Sweet Child O' Mine" duet with Fergie. The GNR great rocked a finger-searing solo in a studded version of his signature black top hat as more angular platforms and dancers moved across the gridiron. The platforms were bearing scores of marching-band musicians who blasted their horns and pounded away on their drums as the Peas went into "Pump It" and blue lights splashed across the production.

Quick streams of fog heralded the arrival of the Peas' second surprise guest, Usher, who swooped in on a long chain to bust out his will.i.am-assisted joint "OMG." Rocking a sparkly collar on an otherwise all-white ensemble, the R&B hitmaker cranked out several counts of energetic choreography, enlivening moves from his "OMG" video and at one point jumping over Will and landing in a split.

A spray of pyro ushered in the collective's breakout 2003 hit "Where Is the Love?" as the oddly shaped platforms spelled out the word "Love" in bright-red letters. The team of dancers, which appeared to have multiplied to over 100, formed hearts across the field as will updated the lyrics of the smash with lines like, "Obama, let's get these educated."

Then the group jumped ahead to their most recent single, 2010's "The Time (Dirty Bit)," as several back up hoofers rocking cubed helmets joined the Peas onstage and dancers lined up along the gridiron to simultaneously bust out the Running Man, a move which drew cheers from the crowd.

The platinum-selling Peas wrapped up the performance with a reprise of "I Gotta Feeling," as the quartet triumphantly signed off amid of blitz of fog, firepower and flashing lights.

Ripping the halftime show was clearly a touching moment for will, who tweeted beforehand, "Me and apl started the peas when we were 16 yesterday we were dreamin now were livin it. Wow. I'm not crying out of sadness or nervousness its joy and pride and memories and the journey."

And once the crew left the stage, the frontman was not only proud, but pumped. "That was so freakin sick," he wrote. "Wow...!!!"
