Tyga And Drake's 'Still Got It' Video Will Be 'Fly'

'I want to shoot it in Harlem, because that's just the young, fly place to be,' Tyga tells MTV News.

Tyga is still putting the finishing touches on his Young Money debut, Careless World, but now, he's less focused on finalizing the track list than getting his timing right. Because, from the sound of things, there's no shortage of material for him to choose from.

"I have productions from Cool & Dre, Pharrell; I actually produced a lot with my in-house producer, Jess Jackson," Tyga told MTV News backstage at Philadelphia's Powerhouse 2011 on Friday. "As an artist, you just know what you want to hear; it's just better to make your own sound rather than try to find a sound and add a story to it."

And despite all that, Tyga knows what's up next: shooting a video for "Still Got It," his collaboration with Drake that appeared earlier this month. But as is the case with most things these days, he's already thinking about his next move too. It's sort of an embarrassment of riches, actually.

"We're about to shoot that ['Still Got It'] video next week with Drake, and I've got another single I'm going to drop after that, with Nicki [Minaj]," he laughed. "I have a lot of good singles right now, it's just about timing."

So while he's very much looking toward the future, we had to ask Tyga about the present too — namely, that video with Drake. So what can fans expect from the clip? Well, he wasn't about to reveal all the secrets, but Tyga did say it will reflect his Young Money status by being "young and fly."

"I want to shoot it in New York ... in Harlem, because that's just the young, fly place to be in New York," he said. "I don't want to give [the plot] away, but you know, it's going to be young and fly, you feel me?"

What are you expecting from Tyga and Drake's video? Let us know in the comments!

Rihanna's 'We Found Love' Video Tells 'Everybody's' Story

'There's a lot of comparisons to her real life, and that's not at all the intention,' director Melina Matsoukas tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena

Rihanna has kept everyone buzzing this week about her video for "We Found Love," a dizzying look at addiction.

Rihanna and her main man in the video, played by British model/boxer Dudley O'Shaughnessy, are not only addicted to drugs, but also each other. The clip's director, Melina Matsoukas, said the video is a warning about the dangers of those types of dependencies.

"We love, obviously, to do provocative imagery ... we always try to definitely push the limits," Matsoukas told MTV News. "I think because, in the end, it's not really at all about domestic violence. It's really just about it being toxic, and they're on this drug trip and that definitely plays a part, but I think it's also about being triumphant over those weaknesses, and she leaves him. It's not trying to glorify that type of relationship. The bad parts of it, that's what you don't want. In the end, her leaving, it represents her getting that out of her life. The drugs and the addiction and the toxic -- that's what brings her downfall and brings a lot of harm."

The video was originally slated to shoot it in Brazil then it got moved to Belfast, Ireland. Rihanna trusted her longtime collaborator and gave her full control to come up with just the right treatment. The singer's new hair and its more natural color helped shape the mood of the video and "how being really natural is forward-thinking." The pair then got supermodel Agyness Deyn onboard to read the monologue, and soon, all the pieces of the puzzle came together.

Is Rihanna The New Madonna? We Make The Case >>>

"It makes you feel so good, like you're lost in electricity or love or whatever it is, you're lost in it," she said about the track. "Obviously, it feels easy to put her in a club with some lights ... so it was really trying to capture that feeling and also what she's singing about."

Seeking inspiration from "real, raw movies" like "Attack the Block," "Kids," "Trainspotting" and "Requiem for a Dream," Matsoukas wanted to capture all that darkness in the video.

"[The song's] totally rave-y... and that's the feeling, just music rushing over you, and then I started thinking about drugs and addiction and love and how that's an addiction," she said. "We've all lived the ups and downs of being in a toxic relationship. It's really about the obstacles of trying to let it go, but at the same time how great it makes you feel, so it's hard to let it go.

Rihanna's Casting Director On Finding Her Ideal Co-Star >>>

"Again, it goes back to a story that we all can relate to," she continued. "It's not Rihanna's story; it's her story in the video, and she's acting. But everybody's [as well]. Obviously, there's a lot of comparisons to her real life, and that's not at all the intention. It's just that I guess people naturally go there because art imitates life, and it's a story we all relate to and we've all experienced. Like, it's based on my life; it's based on her life; it's based on your life, like, everybody."

The video, in between moments of truly real situations, is made a bit dreamier thanks to imagery including a scene where Rihanna vomits ribbons. "All of it was supposed to be a bit surreal, but still real," she said. "So it was finding those little moments like the cigarettes, the ribbons and all this archival footage in there, and the projection stuff throughout it gives it that surreal thing and what's going on in her mind and her purging of her partying ways or whatever the toxic relationship was. And that's what that's supposed to represent."

Ghostface Screams His Way Into MTV's Killer Halloween

Where does the 'Scream' baddie rank among other horror icons? We're polling you all week to find out!
By Eric Ditzian

Ghostface from "Scream"
Photo: Dimension Films

Ghostface better get on his cell phone and start scaring the crap out of fans, because three days into MTV's Killer Halloween, the know-it-all "Scream" psycho is trailing his blood-spilling cinematic brethren in our voter-driven, category-by-category analysis of horror-movie murderers.

In terms of weaponry, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers trumped Ghostface's knife. And when it came to style, the "Scream" dude's black gown and oblong, am-I-sad-or-psychotic mask couldn't outdo Freddy's striped sweater, Jason's hockey mask or Michael's white-washed, blank-faced mask of terror. But perhaps today is Ghostface's day to shine, for now we turn to personality, and here this killer might just shine (or die trying).

Which horror-movie baddie has the best personality? Make your pick in our MTV Movies Blog poll!

Ghostface
Occupation: Student(s), stay-at-home-mom, filmmaker

Weapons: Knife, deep knowledge of the horror genre, irony

Archenemy: Sidney Prescott, innocent people living near Sidney Prescott

Profile: From his first ominously flirty phone call with Drew Barrymore in the 1996 original, Ghostface announced himself as a killer of unique talents and iconic potential. Ever since, the question "What's your favorite scary movie?" has taken on an entirely different meaning.

The key thing that separates Ghostface from most other horror-movie killers is that he's never the same person twice. Sometimes he's one malicious woman with a troubled sense of right and wrong; other times, he's two friends with an itch to draw blood and get famous. The only consistencies are that mask-and-gown getup, an encyclopedic knowledge of horror flicks, and a vendetta against Sidney Prescott, the teary-eyed damsel in distress played by Neve Campbell. Poor Sidney just can't catch a break.

Yes, there is always something a little nonsensical about these shifting Ghostfaces. You're telling me Sidney's boyfriend and his best pal murdered her mom and then went on a Woodsboro-wide killing spree, because why exactly? A couple of kids go from pursuing normal teenage goals like getting drunk and getting laid to wanting to be famous so badly they're willing — and able! — to become crazy-eyed killas? It sounds odd to say when we're talking about a genre in which a child molester can enter the dreams of his victims, but Ghostface always falls a bit short when it comes to believability, if only because the "Scream" franchise takes place in a pop-culture-saturated world so close to our own.

What makes Ghostface a wicked cool bad guy, then, is not why he stabs, but how. Hyper-steeped in horror-movie lore, he appropriates clichés and, in the bloody process, reinvents them. But let's not get too academic here. Ghostface has got swag. He's funny as hell, and when you least expect it, when you're still laughing from your gut, he stabs you in it.

Where do you think Ghostface falls in the scope of horror-movie psychopaths? Let us know in the comments!

Check out everything we've got on "Scream."

Katy Perry Announces New Fragrance, Meow

The 'sister perfume' to Purr will be unveiled in December.
By James Montgomery

Photo: C. Flanigan/ FilmMagic

Given that she lovingly refers to her fans as "Katycats," and that her first foray into the fragrance market was called "Purr," it shouldn't come as a surprise that Katy Perry has decided on another feline-centric name for her second perfume: "Meow."

Perry announced the new scent Wednesday (October 12) on Twitter, calling it the "bestie" to Purr and promising that Meow will be "very sweet & inspired by that magical place, CANDYFORNIA!"

So, will it smell like cotton candy and sun-tan lotion? On Tuesday, Perry asked her 'Cats to predict the name of the fragrance, with 10 winners receiving the perfume and one lucky fan receiving an invite to the Meow launch event, set for December. As it turns out, a whole lot of folks seemed to guess correctly — though we did like some of the incorrect guesses, like "Catnip," "Furrytail" and, uh, "Pussy Power."

"Some of you guessed my sister perfume right!" she wrote. "I can't wait to reveal her, she is so sweet!"

Meow follows on the heels of Perry's successful Purr fragrance, which she debuted in July, wearing cat ears to the launch party in Toronto. Earlier, she had pulses pounding when she slipped into a body-hugging catsuit and posed provocatively with a giant pink ball of yarn in promotional ads for the perfume.

Perhaps Perry will use her upcoming video, for new single "The One That Got Away," as a platform to give fans a sneak peek at the packaging for the fragrance.

Michael Jackson Wasn't Addicted To Propofol, Expert Says

Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers call their last two witnesses.
By Kara Warner

Dr. Paul White
Photo: Pool/ Getty Images

The involuntary manslaughter trial against former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray is officially winding down, as the defense called its final two witnesses to the stand Thursday (October 27). Day 19 featured crucial testimony from addiction expert Robert Waldman and the man believed to be the defense's star witness, Dr. Paul White, a propofol expert.

The Witnesses
» Dr. Robert Waldman, addiction expert
» Dr. Paul White, anesthesiologist and propofol expert

Key Testimony
» Dr. Waldman testified that in examining the records of Jackson's use and reception of the sedative Demerol, the singer received unusually large doses of the drug and that Jackson had started to become immune to its potency. Waldman admitted, after a heated cross-examination by the prosecution, that while Jackson seemed to have a dependency on the drug, he was not addicted to it.

» At one point during cross-examination, Waldman was asked if he would consider administering a dangerous or harmful drug to a patient if the patient requested it. Waldman's response: "Absolutely."

» Dr. White kicked off the afternoon session by explaining to the court that he has been researching the use and effects of propofol since 1983, six years before it was approved by the FDA.

» When asked by the defense if he could justify administering propofol to a patient and then leaving that patient unsupervised, as Murray is said to have done, White said, "Absolutely not." He also stated that he wouldn't have expected Jackson to die from the amount of propofol Murray claimed he administered to the pop star. White is expected to take the stand again Friday when the trial resumes at 8:45 a.m. PT.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter. He faces four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.

Rihanna's 'We Found Love' Co-Star Talks On-Set Chemistry

'We were like mates,' model Dudley O'Shaughnessy says of his connection to Rihanna.
By James Montgomery

If the onscreen chemistry between Rihanna and her "We Found Love" co-star, boxer-turned-model Dudley O'Shaughnessy, seemed real, well, that's because it was.

That's what O'Shaughnessy is saying in a new interview with London's Evening Standard newspaper, in which he gushes about his connection with the pop star, and admits that after three days on "We Found Love" shoot, he "didn't want it to end."

"I loved it," he said. "Not just because it was 'a certain person's' video, but just because I love being on set.

"I wasn't star-struck at all ... she's just a nice girl. It's not like just because she's achieved so much that she thinks her sh-- don't stink," O'Shaughnessy continued. "She's such a humble, down-to-earth girl and that made it even better for me because I didn't feel intimidated or anything. We just got along. We were just like mates."

O'Shaughnessy added that, before being cast in "We Found Love," he had given up his dreams of becoming a professional boxer and was even contemplating quitting modeling, thinking, "I'm going to have to get a normal job now. I'll have to be a plumber or something," but, after his agency supplied his headshots to Rihanna's camp, she personally picked him for the video.

"The director, everyone, loved him," his agent told the Standard. "Obviously, Rihanna loved him."

Of course, O'Shaughnessy played it coy when asked about rumors that his and Rihanna's on-set relationship carried over into their off-set lives. Asked how he handled those steamy sex scenes, the model said, "You've just got to get into it," he said, adding that despite what you may read, he is still very much single.

"It's not that I'm looking [for a girlfriend]," he said. "I don't want to say I want a girlfriend or I don't. If it happens, it happens."

Justin Bieber's Next Album Inspired By Justin Timberlake

'I'm trying to create a new sound,' Bieber tells MTV News about follow-up to My World 2.0, due 'early next year.'
By James Montgomery

Justin Bieber
Photo: MTV News

It seems sort of odd to talk about Justin Bieber's next album, given that his new album — the holiday-riffic Under the Mistletoe — doesn't hit stores until November 1.

But, when MTV News caught up with Bieber this past weekend in Santiago, Chile — where he was wrapping up his two-year My World Tour in record-setting fashion — he was more than ready to start discussing the follow-up to his massive My World 2.0 album, mostly because he's been hard at work on it for a while now, and the finish line is definitely in sight.

"What's happening is: get off this tour, and then my [holiday] album's coming out, so I have to go back out and promote that album ... and then after that ... it's almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again," Bieber told us. "We've already started [working on it], but we're going to be going in every day and working with new people and trying to find the best sound, because I'm going to be recording different styles, different things until I find a solid 15 songs that I love. ... I'm going to be recording as many songs as I possibly can."

True Beliebers Send Special Messages To Justin >>>

As for the release date for the new album, Bieber doesn't know specifics just yet, but he promised it'll be out "soon ... early next year." For fans seeking a sneak peek at the next step in his musical evolution, they've only got to check out his recent remix of Drake's "Trust Issues."

"I loved the song; I thought it was a dope song. I actually cover it in my concert," he said. "I'm going to mature; I'm going to evolve. I don't feel like I'm going to do it too fast or too slow: I'm going to do it at the pace that I feel comfortable doing it."

Of course, that's just one direction he's hoping to head in. Because, first and foremost, Bieber said that on his next album, he's looking to create something entirely new, while still maintaining a connection to his past.

"I'm trying to create a new sound that people aren't really used to hearing, so it might sound weird at first, but it's going to be like when Justin Timberlake did FutureSex/LoveSounds: It was a new sound ... acoustic guitar over hard drums," he explained. "I want to find something that's going to suit me and my fans are going to love and older people will like and younger people will like. But I'm always trying to keep my core fanbase, because the young people are what make everything cool. Old people look to young people, so trying to keep everyone happy."

Lindsay Lohan Released From House Arrest

Actress will turn 25 this weekend.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images

Independence Day weekend has a new meaning for Lindsay Lohan. Thirty-five days ago, Lohan began her house arrest, and on Wednesday (June 29), the actress completed the sentence in connection with her recent theft case. The singer had been confined to her home in Venice, California, for the past four weeks.

"She completed her home detention today and she's now back under the supervision of the courts and probation," sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore confirmed to People. A source told E! News that Lohan's ankle bracelet has also been removed.

"I spoke with her yesterday and she told me she is eager to return to fulfilling her community service obligation, which she has been unable to perform during house arrest," her rep told E! Lohan still has to complete 360 hours working at the Downtown Women's Center in L.A. and then has 120 hours performing janitorial duties at the L.A. County Morgue. She has a year to complete her duties.

Lohan turns 25 on July 2. Rumor has it, the star will be in New York to celebrate; however, her rep just said, she'll be "with friends and family privately" celebrating.

Lohan appeared to be back in hot water earlier this month after she failed an alcohol test on June 13; she passed a drug test on June 9. Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled that the prior judge in the case only required controlled-substance testing from January 3 to February 25 of this year, meaning Lohan avoided any further punishment.

Michael Jackson Gave Himself Propofol, Expert Testifies

Final defense witness says Dr. Conrad Murray's care was substandard, but not involuntary manslaughter.
By Gil Kaufman

Propofol expert Dr. Paul White testifies in court Friday
Photo: Getty Images

The final day of testimony in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's former doctor, Conrad Murray, was devoted to a defense witness who has reportedly pieced together a new explanation for how the King of Pop died. And if Dr. Paul White can convince the jury that Murray gave substandard care but that it didn't rise to the level of involuntary manslaughter, he could turn the tide for the beleaguered defense team.

The Witness
» Dr. Paul White, propofol expert

Key Testimony
» Anesthesiologist White readily admitted to defense attorneys Thursday that Murray's decision to dose Jackson with the surgical anesthetic propofol and then leave the room was not proper medical procedure. Returning to the stand Friday (October 28), he testified that he believes the singer killed himself by self-injecting a fatal dose of propofol. According to CBS News, White testified that he can't find proof to support the prosecution theory that Jackson's doctor was giving Jackson an infusion of the drug through an IV before the King of Pop's demise. He said that theory isn't supported by evidence found at the scene or in Murray's statements to police.

» White said the evidence found in the bedroom of Jackson's rented L.A. mansion is more consistent with him receiving an injection of the anesthetic. Earlier, prosecution witness Dr. Steven Shafer told jurors he believed Murray used an IV drop of propofol, which was the only way to explain the high levels of the drug found in Jackson's body.

» White also testified that Jackson could have swallowed up to eight tablets of the sedative Lorazepam on the morning of June 25, 2009, when he died. The Los Angeles Coroner's office determined that Jackson died of an overdose of propofol, with Lorazepam playing a contributing role.

» Cross-examination of White will take place Monday, which will give prosecutors time to review a new defense analysis of samples taken during Jackson's autopsy. Murray is not expected to take the stand in his defense.

Murray, who was being paid $150,000 a month to care for Jackson, has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and is now facing four years in prison. But new sentencing laws in California aimed at mandatorily reducing state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.

Jigsaw Tests Into MTV's Killer Halloween

'Saw' serial killer 'basically a regular guy' the audience can respect, horror expert says. So, how does he rank among movie murderers?
By Kara Warner

John Kramer, known as Jigsaw, in "Saw"
Photo: Lions Gate Films

This week's horror-movie-themed bloodletting continues with Day 4 of MTV's Killer Halloween, an in-depth competition in which we ask you, the best and brightest fans, to vote on who is the boldest, baddest and scariest movie murderer.

Which horror-movie baddie has the best personality? Make your pick in our MTV Movies Blog poll!

Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Chucky, Michael Myers and Ghostface all have received spotlight treatment, and now it's time to turn the focus toward a seriously scary mass-murderer: Jigsaw.

Jigsaw

Name: John "Jigsaw" Kramer, so nicknamed for his practice of cutting puzzle pieces out of the flesh of victims who didn't "pass" his deadly tests in the "Saw" movie franchise

Occupation: Civil engineer turned sadistic self-appointed judge of others' life choices

Weapons: Practical home-improvement items found at a local Home Depot or Lowe's, along with the aid of a few helping hands here and there

Archenemy: People who waste or don't appreciate their lives, laziness

Profile: Kramer is a former civil engineer who is dying from colon cancer. After an unsuccessful suicide attempt, he suddenly gains a new appreciation for life and sets out to make others appreciate what they have before it's too late. Unfortunately, and as is standard in all good horror flicks, his methods are a bit twisted. In an effort to test his victims' survival instincts, he crafts deadly and torturous traps that play upon his captives' character flaws. He doesn't really want his victims to die, but makes it nearly impossible for them to survive.

Horror-movie expert Ryan Turek, managing editor of ShockTillYouDrop.com, explains Jigsaw's brilliance: "Behind the flayed flesh and exposed guts his messy traps leave behind, Jigsaw does have a pretty solid message to pass along:

Live your life and live it right. It's up to the people he captures to survive the blades, gears and barbed wire of his contraptions," Turek told MTV News, adding that what separates Jigsaw from other horror-movie killers is the fact that he's basically a regular guy.

"That's something that the audience can invest in and be terrified of: that lurking behind this amiable face is something incredibly deranged. That somber, withering older guy in the corner? He's quietly eyeballing you and probably has a trap waiting for you somewhere. It also helps that he's smart," Turek continued. "This is a man with an education, and to a degree, you can respect him, which is a scary thought. Jigsaw's vicious tests get the audience engaged in a discussion about right and wrong. He forces people to better themselves. I'm waiting for the day 'The Jigsaw Challenge' reality show hits television. We're not that far off, are we?"

Check out everything we've got on "Saw."

Ghostface Screams His Way Into MTV's Killer Halloween

Where does the 'Scream' baddie rank among other horror icons? We're polling you all week to find out!
By Eric Ditzian

Ghostface from "Scream"

Justin Bieber Marvels At Mariah Carey Christmas Collab

On the upcoming Under the Mistletoe, JB also teams up with Busta Rhymes for a 'genius' take on 'Little Drummer Boy.'
By James Montgomery

Justin Bieber's upcoming Under the Mistletoe album -- you know, the one powered by Christmas cookies and promoted by the first single, "Mistletoe" -- also features more than its fair share of eye-opening collaborations.

That's counting Bieber's mentor Usher (who appears on a version of "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire"), Boyz II Men, the Band Perry and, rather amazingly, Busta Rhymes, who teams up with JB on an updated take of "Little Drummer Boy."

As Bieber told MTV News during the live stream that followed the premiere of his "Mistletoe" video, the Busta collaboration is one he'll always remember ... mostly because he considers it to be quite brilliant.

"If you really think about it, it's genius, because it's rapping on a Christmas album ... and, like, I'm rapping on it. And then it's singing," he explained. "It's cool. [Busta's] got, like, a percussive voice to him [and] the beat was so crazy. I'm actually playing drums on that song, playing the snare."

And then, of course, there's his collabo with none other than Mariah Carey, on a version of her instant-classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You." If you thought he was blown away by his Busta team-up, well, you haven't heard anything yet. And he owes it all to none other than Randy Jackson.

"Mariah Carey is doing it with me! It's incredible. So excited," he said of "All I Want." "We wanted Mariah from the beginning, but we kind of thought it was really hard, so we didn't really push the idea. But she's on my label, so we reached out to some people, she got in contact with us, and Randy Jackson was actually at the studio with us, and I was like, 'Yo, you think you can help get Mariah on the Christmas album?' And he was like, 'I'm actually going to see her in New York on Monday,' and I was like 'Yo, go do that!' "

Beyonce's Team Shoots Down Fake Baby-Bump Rumors

Publicist calls rumors 'stupid, ridiculous and false.'
By Gil Kaufman

Beyoncé has had to deal with dozens of scurrilous, absurd and outlandish rumors over the course of her career. And like most stars, she has ignored the majority of them, responded to some and mostly just let the talkers talk. But after the Internet blew up earlier this week with rumors that the pregnant singer was sporting what some were calling a "fake" baby bump during a recent TV appearance, enough was enough.

Beyoncé's publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told ABC News on Tuesday that the allegations are "stupid, ridiculous and false." The rumors were sparked by an appearance Beyoncé made on Australia's "Sunday Night HD" in which her midsection seemed to deflate and fold over in an odd manner when she sat down for an interview while wearing a loose-fitting red dress.

It was during that appearance that Beyoncé — who revealed her pregnancy — at the 2011 VMAs confirmed that the child she is expecting with hubby Jay-Z is due in February. "I just feel like it's time and I'm very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift any human can have," B said during the interview. "If there's any time, right now is the time, and I'm so happy."

Before the bump-troversy erupted, Beyoncé told Harper's Bazaar that she doesn't get worked up over gossip. "I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people's opinions about my life decisions," she said. "It is really liberating to know what I want, to know what truly makes me happy."

And while the super-couple have always kept their private life off limits, the "Countdown" singer did reveal a bit about her relationship with Jigga in the November issue of the magazine.

"We took our time and developed an unbreakable friendship before we got married. ... But like anything great and successful in your life, marriage takes hard work and sacrifice," she said. "It has to be something both you and your husband deeply want. The best thing about marriage is the amount of growth you have because you can no longer hide from your insecurities. There's someone right there calling you out on your flaws and building you up when you need the support. If you are with the right person, it brings out the best version of you."

Usher To Donate Gadhafi Money To Charity

'I will be donating all of my personal proceeds...to various human rights organizations,' singer says of concert linked to Libyan dictator.

R&B superstar Usher announced Friday (March 4) that he was donating to various charities proceeds from appearing at a private event at St. Barts linked to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, according to a statement made to the Associated Press.

The Grammy award winner's renouncement comes after similar announcements from singers Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, and Beyoncé, all of whom were revealed to have performed at private concerts linked to the Middle Eastern leader, who has faced open revolt and major political uprisings since February.

"I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart's event that took place on New Year's Eve 2009," Usher said of the concert, at which he appeared alongside Beyoncé but did not perform. "I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations."

Usher has already begun the process, having made a donation to Amnesty International, the AP reports. The exact size of the donation is not known.

The New Year's Eve gig was reportedly for Moammar's fourth son Muastassim, who an unnamed music industry source told MTV News has a history of throwing lavish parties "jammed" with supermodels.

Beyoncé, who sang at the event, donated all proceeds from her performance to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, established in the wake of the Haitian earthquake.

"All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago," the "Halo" singer's publicist said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."

Singer Nelly Furtado tweeted February 28 that she plans to make similar amends.

"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Gadhafi clan to perform a 45 min. show for guests at a hotel in Italy," she tweeted. "I am going to donate the $."

The leader of Libya since a successful military coup in 1969, Gadhafi has reportedly lost control of much of his country as a result of widespread uprisings. The United Nations voted unanimously to refer the dictator to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

Kelly Clarkson Gives Her 'American Idol' Self Some Advice

'I think I would have told myself to enjoy it more,' Stronger singer says of her early career.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias

It's been close to a decade since Kelly Clarkson became the first-ever American Idol. In the years since her 2002 win on the show, she's become a pop star who's known for her big voice and empowering pop anthems. Five albums and multiple hit songs later, Clarkson has some perspective on her career.

"I think I can be a very serious person, so I think me taking everything so to heart ... especially when I first started out, anytime I slipped on a note or forgot a word or I'd do something wrong, that wasn't huge, [but] it was just like, it wasn't perfect. I was very much a perfectionist," she explained. "And I fight that still, but I'm a lot easier now."

That more relaxed attitude shows in the advice she would give her younger self. "I wish I could tell myself 'Enjoy it' because an emotional performance is way better than a perfect performance," she explained. "I think I would have told myself to enjoy it more." Clarkson released her latest album, Stronger, this week, and her newfound confidence is definitely reflected in the album title.

"There were a few different titles that were going around, and I think the reason why we came up with Stronger was just because every song was about empowerment and almost, like, overcoming stuff," she explained. "So, even if it was a bad situation and a sad song, it was about overcoming that. So by the end of the song, it's kind of more inspiration than sad. So I think that's why [we named it that], and I think after 10 years of doing it, you feel a little stronger personally and musically. People know you better. It's just easier, I think."
