Pitbull Files Countersuit Against Lindsay Lohan
Rapper's new suit alleges lyric in his hit 'Give Me Everything' was justified, given Lohan's ongoing legal problems.

<P>Looks like that pre-VMA olive branch has been snapped: Pitbull has filed a countersuit against <a href="/news/articles/1669784/pitbull-lindsay-lohan-vma-invitation.jhtml">Lindsay Lohan, who is suing</a> him for defamation over a line in his smash hit "Give Me Everything." </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:685928" width="240" height="211"></div><p> In his new suit, <a href="/news/articles/1669394/lindsay-lohan-sues-pitbull-give-me-everything.jhtml">Pitbull alleges that the lyric</a> in question — "I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan" — is justified, given the actress' ongoing <a href="/news/articles/1673824/lindsay-lohan-jail.jhtml">legal problems</a>, and questions whether Lohan is eligible to file suit in New York (her original claim was filed in New York state court, as she claimed to be a resident of Nassau County), since she has been spending the majority of her time serving probation in California. "In light of Ms. Lohan's continuing obligations to the State of California, as well as the foregoing facts, Ms. Lohan is a citizen of California, not New York," Pitbull's countersuit states. Lohan first filed suit against the rapper in August, seeking an injunction to stop all broadcast of "Give Me Everything," claiming that "by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm." The following week, in a statement on his Planet Pit website, <a href="/news/articles/1669676/pitbull-lindsay-lohan-video-music-awards.jhtml">Pitbull apologized to Lohan</a> for any unintended harm from the "Everything" lyric, and said that he actually "supports" the actress' career. "In no way, shape or form would I want to bring that on anybody," he said. "I didn't look to defame, degrade or hurt someone's career. For me, mentioning it on a #1 record around the world, I thought it would be <i>helping</i> someone's career, and keeping them relevant. We mention people's names all the time; when it comes to rapping, it's always about double meanings and metaphors and how you flip certain things." A spokesperson for Pitbull did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on the countersuit.</p>

Ferris Bueller-Inspired Super Bowl Ad Debuts
Matthew Broderick gets another day off in the Honda commercial.
By Eric Ditzian
Matthew Broderick in his Honda CR-V commercial

In retrospect, perhaps it would have been better for Ferris Bueller to stay hidden away in Hollywood retirement. Perhaps when the classic '80s troublemaker reappeared in a viral video last week — a teaser spot leading up to a Super Bowl ad for Honda — we should have realized no good could come of hauling out a movie icon to shill for the auto industry.
And now, as depressing as an early-bird special, the commercial has arrived long ahead of primetime. Inspired by but not reprising his Ferris role, Matthew Broderick shuffles through the commercial, halfheartedly repeating lines from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and finding himself in situations ripped from the 1986 John Hughes comedy. Once again, Broderick doesn't want to work, so he fakes an illness and heads off on an adventure. When he says to the camera, like Ferris had more than 25 years ago, "One of the worst performances of my life, and he never doubted it for a second," we can't help feeling Mr. Broderick is trying to tell us all something that might not make Honda execs so happy.
Or perhaps the joke is on us. The Web has been abuzz for days about the ad and the extended version, available now on YouTube, will only ensure Ferris and Honda are part of the pop-culture conversation in the lead-up to Sunday's Super Bowl. Why the ad arrived so early, though, remains an open question.
We have many others. Is it true, as the automotive blog Jalopnik reported, that "Hangover" director Todd Phillips oversaw the effort, and if so, why is the whole thing not funnier? Why did Broderick play himself, rather than Ferris? Does Broderick really need the money? And what would Hughes, who passed away in 2009, say?
At the same time, it could be worse. The ad did deliver some amusing moments (a staring contest with a walrus, for example) and we never get tired of "Oh Yeah" by Yello. At the very least, the ad made for a far better reimagining of a beloved '80s comedy than Billy Crystal's short-form sequel last year to "When Harry Met Sally..." That viral video managed to be both unfunny and sacrilegious. At least Honda didn't turn Ferris' buddy Cameron into a vampire.

Lindsay Lohan's Probation Revoked
Actress could serve 18 months in jail for failing to perform her court-ordered community service.

<P><MTVNLINK type="movieperson" id="207177">Lindsay Lohan</MTVNLINK> may be headed back to jail following a "blistering" hearing Wednesday (October 19) in a Los Angeles courthouse where a judge revoked the troubled actress' probation and had her led out of the proceedings in handcuffs. According to <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2011/10/19/lindsay-lohan-livestream-showdown-in-court-probation-violation/#.Tp8ULJuImU8" target="_blank">TMZ</a>, Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled that Lohan had violated the conditions of her probation — stemming from a 2011 arrest on <a href="/news/articles/1657619/lindsay-lohan-charged-with-felony-grand-theft.jhtml">theft charges</a> — and set a hearing for November 2, at which time Lohan could receive a sentence of up to a year and a half in jail. Lohan, dressed in a flowing white Fendi dress with matching scarf tied around her neck, was placed in handcuffs and exited the courtroom, where she was processed by the L.A. County Sheriff's Office. TMZ reports that she has already been bailed out. According to the conditions of her probation, <a href="/news/articles/1664663/lindsay-lohan-house-arrest.jhtml">Lohan was placed on house arrest</a> and ordered to perform 480 hours of community service, which included working at a Los Angeles Women's Center and the Los Angeles County morgue. She was also told to undergo psychological counseling and participate in a shoplifters alternative course. But according to Judge Sautner, Lohan failed to show up at the Women's Center on at least nine different occasions, and she added that she doubted the actress was attending counseling once a week, as the court had ordered. Before she was taken away in handcuffs, Judge Sautner told Lohan that she must complete 16 hours of service at the morgue before appearing in court again November 2. Sautner said Lohan's eviction from the Women's Center for not showing up violated the terms of probation and she explained to the sometime actress' lawyer, Shawn Holley, that the time spent at the Red Cross did not count toward her community service obligation. "No one has the power to change my sentence," Sautner said. "Not the volunteer center and not probation. She is not getting credit for any time at the American Red Cross." According to reports, Holley was unable to provide the judge with a count of how many hours Lohan had completed at the Women's Center. "The way I look at it, Ms. Lohan has created an impossibility to perform the sentence that was given to her by her own actions," Sautner told Lohan. "I certainly find that cause to revoke her probation." And though she said Lohan could receive 18 months in jail, Sautner added that new laws and overcrowding would make such a lengthy sentence unlikely.</p>

Justin Bieber Debuts Darker Locks

<P>About a year ago, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> made headlines when he <a href="/news/articles/1658412/justin-bieber-haircut.jhtml">lopped off his famous locks</a> in favor of a shorter do. Now, almost 12 months later, he's once again making some hair-related headlines. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:667806" width="240" height="211"></div><p> So, what has Bieber done now that has everyone <i>buzz</i>ing? Well, over the weekend, the Biebs was <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/justin_biebers_hair_goes_dark_side/286863" target="_blank">spotted in Los Angeles</a> donning much darker hair than his trademark sandy blond. When Bieber cut off his hair last year, MTV News spoke to his <a href="/news/articles/1659195/justin-bieber-haircut.jhtml">hairstylist, Vanessa Price</a>, who told us about his new look, noting that it had a lot to do with Bieber's growing pains. "We knew it was going to be a big deal," Price explained. "We knew it was going to shock fans, but we also knew it was going to be a change in terms of growing up. I think that's something that people adjust to. "We'd been talking about it for a while and shared some ideas, but literally the day of he was adamant about the haircut. He amped himself up for it," Price continued, before describing his momentary hesitation. "The minute we started cutting, he was like, 'Wait, wait, wait.' He loves it. He's enjoying it." The new hair color coincides with his girlfriend Selena Gomez's hairstyle changes. She recently <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/selenagomez/status/157224232835760130" target="_blank">tweeted</a> a photo of herself sporting multi-colored highlights in her hair. Bieber's new look may be part of a makeover for his upcoming album, <i>Believe,</i> slated for release later this year. He confirmed last week that <a href="/news/articles/1677263/justin-bieber-will-i-am-believe.jhtml">Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am</a> will appear on the album. Not only does Bieber want to <a href="/news/articles/1675015/justin-bieber-new-album.jhtml">grow up</a> when it comes to his look but also when it comes to his music. "The only conversation we've had about Justin's album that we're about to do is it's really important that it's the proper transition, because we've seen him [with] 'Baby,' now we're watching him grow up," Bieber's longtime vocal producer Kuk Harrell told MTV News in November. "And we can't just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition."</p>

Editor's note: While Us Weekly originally reported that "Weeds" star Mary-Louise Parker would replace Demi Moore as Gloria Steinem in "Lovelace," the filmmakers have confirmed to MTV News that Moore's actual replacement is Sarah Jessica Parker.
Amid her personal woes, Demi Moore, who had been set to play Gloria Steinem in the Linda Lovelace biopic, has been replaced by "Weeds" star Mary-Louise Parker.
Sources confirm to UsMagazine.com that the TV star will fill in for Moore, who had to drop out of the film earlier this week after she was hospitalized for "exhaustion." On Thursday, there was speculation that Chloë Sevigny would play the feminist icon when she was cast as a feminist journalist, but now it seems that those are two different roles.
"Lovelace" is currently shooting in Los Angeles with Amanda Seyfried playing the film's central character, '70s porn actress Linda Lovelace.
As the Demi drama rolls on, there are reports that Madonna reached out to the actress shortly after she was hospitalized. Moore has since been released from the L.A.-area hospital.
Sources tells E! News that the singer called her actress pal. "Madonna told Demi she was there if she needs anything," the E! source says, adding, "They're pretty tight."
The ladies last hung out during Golden Globes weekend, and they reportedly were going to see one another again over Super Bowl weekend; Madge is slated to perform during the halftime show. The status of their annual post-Oscars bash is currently up in the air.
While speculation runs rampant about why Moore was hospitalized, sources say that her ex, Ashton Kutcher, is "deeply concerned" for her. Moore is rumored to have been doing nitrous oxide before landing in the hospital. "He still cares about her and wants the best for her," the source added. "But their marriage is ending and they are both moving on with their lives."

Young Money's Cory Gunz Arrested With A Loaded Gun
His dad, rapper Peter Gunz, confirms report to MTV News: 'To go to a precinct and see your son in handcuffs, it's heartbreaking.'

Veteran Bronx MC Peter Gunz confirmed to MTV News early Sunday (January 29) that his son, rapper Cory Gunz, was arrested for gun possession in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday afternoon.
"The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx," Gunz told MTV News. "They caught him around 2p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.
"It was definitely an illegal search," Peter added.
Gunz was unable to disclose full details on the incident just yet, but he explained the events leading up to his son's arrest. "I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out,' " Gunz said. "According to [the officer], they didn't know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.
"What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory, actually happened to be a cool dude," Gunz continued. "After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation."
The 24-year-old rapper was brought to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx on Saturday, but officials there say he has since been transported to Central Booking, on E. 161st Street in the Bronx.
While this is Cory Gunz's first brush with the law, his father is still worried about the potential fallout from a firearm charge.
"At the end of the day, there's a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it's mandatory jail time," he said. "To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it's heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it's very hard. He's walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.
"This is Cory's first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them."
In April 2011, Cory Gunz and his father starred in the six-part MTV docu-series "Son of a Gun," which charted the young rapper's rise to fame. The younger Gunz is signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money label.

Rihanna's 'Thug Life' Joins List Of Hip-Hop Tattoo Tributes
Nas, Snoop and Game have all paid homage to other MCs with body art.
By Gil Kaufman

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a> has raised a lot of eyebrows this week with her latest body modification: a tattoo that reads <a href="/news/articles/1677937/rihanna-tattoo-tweet-thug.jhtml">"Thug Life"</a>, in honor of late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur. While 'Pac had the words emblazoned across his abdomen, Rihanna opted to write them across her knuckles in what appears to be glow-in-the-dark ink. Say what you will about whether the pop princess is living the kind of rising-up-from-the-streets life Shakur was honoring by splashing the name of his crew across his stomach, but she joins a long list of musicians who've used body art to pay homage to fallen homeys or musical inspirations. When hip-hip hookmaster <a href="/news/articles/1659986/nate-dogg-dead.jhtml">Nate Dogg died</a> last year, his old friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg had an image of Nate's face with the legend <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2011/03/26/snoop-dogg-remembers-nate-dogg-with-new-tattoo">"All Doggs Go to Heaven"</a> written on his arm as a remembrance of the G-funk singer. And while Faith Evans once proudly bore a heart-shaped tattoo that read "B.I.G." in honor of her then-husband Biggie Smalls. (After the couple split, however, she added some ink so it read "B.I.G. FAYE.") After his best friend and fellow D12 member was shot and killed in 2006, Eminem filled the space on his left forearm with a giant "Proof" tat encircled with flames. Fellow Detroit MC Kid Rock has the name of his former bandmate, Joe C., on his body as well, in honor of the hype man who passed away in 2000. Drake got in the game last year when he reportedly added a <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2011/12/27/drake-sports-an-aaliyah-tattoo-on-his-back">portrait of late singer Aaliyah</a> to his collection of back ink. Well before that, Nas paid a sideways tribute to Tupac with his "God's Son" stomach piece, which paid homage to both the fallen MC and to Nasty Nas' nickname. But an artist doesn't need to have passed on to get the tribute treatment, as evidenced by D12 member Bizarre's love letter to Nicki Minaj, which he added to his collection last year in the form of a head shot of the female MC rocking blue hair. And while Game is no stranger to face-to-toe ink, he made a serious commitment in 2009 when he got the logo from producer/rapper Pharrell's Star Trak label on his arm while he worked with Williams on his <i>The R.E.D. Album.</i> <i>What do you think of Rihanna's knuckle tattoo? Sound off on our <a href="http://www.facebook.com/mtvnews" target="_blank">Facebook</a> page!</i></p>

Russell Brand To Star In Michael Bay's 'Hauntrepreneur'

Russell Brand has nabbed a starring role in the Michael Bay-produced "The Hauntrepreneur."
The movie will revolve around a "peculiar man" (presumably Brand, given his penchant for those types of roles) who is hired by a family to help them adjust to living in a new town. Calling himself the "Hauntrepreneur," he creates a haunted house full of kooky characters to try to help them get acclimated to their new surroundings, Variety reports.
Paramount has yet to comment on the casting. It marks the latest move Brand has made since filing for divorce from Katy Perry over New Year's weekend.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Brand will perform as part of an Amnesty International benefit March 4 at New York's Radio City Music Hall. It marks his first public appearance since news broke of his split from Perry. Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Reggie Watts and others will also appear at Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball.
Brand will next be seen in "Rock of Ages," alongside Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige and Alec Baldwin. The big-screen adaptation of Broadway's rock musical will open June 1. He's also attached to Diablo Cody's "Untitled Diablo Cody Project," which also will feature Hough.
Additionally, he's working with the FX network on a series of six half-hour late-night comedy specials that will be filmed in front of a live audience as well as an animated comedy he co-created that will air on the Fox network.

T.I. And Young Jeezy Join Tyga's All-Star 'Rack City' Cast
'To have two of the legends that I'm big fans of on the record is crazy,' Tyga tells MTV News.

The "Rack City" remix video is shaping up to be quite the all-star affair. If Fabolous and Wale weren't enough for fans, Tyga went ahead and recruited two more rap heavyweights for the clip.
Last week, the Young Money solider set up shop in Atlanta and invited T.I. and Young Jeezy to guest on his street hit and its upcoming visual.
"I heard the record, loved it, seen it go crazy in the club. I couldn't visualize it without a Young verse on there, so I just went ahead," Jeezy told MTV News from the video set. "The homey hit me up for the video, and we in the A-Town, we in the city, we here, turnt up."
Usually, pulling features from such big names is quite the chore, especially for newer artists like Tyga. But already, the "Rack City" remix features some pretty notable MCs, with the Snowman and Tip just the latest to jump onboard. "I didn't think the song would be bigger than outside of L.A., because that's like an L.A. sound," Tyga said, "So to have two of the legends that I'm big fans of on the record is crazy."
When talking about his decision to jump on the record, T.I. was as nonchalant as could be. "For me, I got reached out to. They told me to add my two cents in, so I did just that," Tip said. "When they told me the video was coming, I picked out an outfit."
During a separate January shoot for the same video, Wale joked about the influence Tyga's "Rack City" had on strippers. "I'm just happy that I can be a part of a record that's influencing and making so many young, ambitious dancers so much money," Wale playfully told MTV News while shooting the song's video down in Miami on January 13. "It's very beneficial to so many young women across the country. The strip clubs are stress relief. Welcome to Rack City!"
What do you think Jeezy and T.I. will add to "Rack City"? Let us know in the comments!
