Lady Gaga, Bono, Usher To Headline Bill Clinton Foundation Fundraiser

October 15 show will be streamed live over the Internet.

Even a dozen years removed from the White House, former president Bill Clinton still has that same superstar-attracting aura. That might explain why such bright lights as Lady Gaga, Bono and The Edge of U2, and Usher have signed on to perform at an October 15 party for Clinton at the Hollywood Bowl.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details on the final list of performers and presenters are still being worked on, but an impressive list of movie and TV personalities are expected to sign on for the event, which is being billed as a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Clinton's nonprofit William J. Clinton Foundation.

To date, the foundation has raised more than $10 billion for some of the ex-president's most cherished causes, including HIV/AIDS treatment, economic empowerment, food aid and global health initiatives. The show, which will also serve as a birthday party celebration for the former Democratic leader (who turned 65 on August 19), will be broadcast exclusively by Yahoo, which will stream "A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation" worldwide to a potential audience of millions.

Clinton continues to travel the world doing good works, though he turned his attention homeward over the weekend when he participated in the 10th anniversary ceremonies of the September 11 terror attacks. He announced on Sunday that he will team with Republican House Speaker John Boehner in a bipartisan effort to raise the final $10 million needed to complete the Fight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Rihanna: The Greatest Star, The Worst Nicknames

We try to come up with a nickname befitting Rihanna's superstar status, in Bigger Than the Sound.
By James Montgomery

Rihanna
Photo: Samir Hussein/WireImage

I realize this is probably not important, what with all the horrible stuff going on in the world, but Rihanna totally needs a good nickname.

More specifically, she deserves a good nickname, one befitting her status as a true pop&B icon. To wit, she has scored a staggering 10 #1's on the Billboard Hot 100 — making her the youngest ever to achieve such a feat — including four in 2010 alone. She has released six albums since 2005 (her next is due in November), which have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. She has won four Grammy awards, is the official ambassador of Barbados (where she ranks somewhere between Doug E. Fresh and rum on the nation's "greatest exports" scale), has signed lucrative endorsement deals with everyone from Gucci to Vita Coco, makes really great, slightly controversial music videos, takes amazing meet-and-greet photos, commands a huge fanbase she affectionately refers to as her Navy and is a true pioneer of the hair arts.

And yet, the best moniker we have been able to come up with for her seems to be "RiRi." Or maybe "The Bajan Beauty," which sounds like something Bob Barker would've come up with while hosting the 1978 Miss Universe pageant. Clearly, this needs to change.

After all, Madonna is the "Queen of Pop." Lady Gaga is "Mother Monster." Mariah Carey is "Mimi." Rihanna has earned the right to be mentioned in the same sentence as all three, yet she often isn't. And I can think of no other reason beside the fact that she does not have a truly great nickname. Sure, I guess you could call her "The Princess of the Roc," but really, that was Teairra Mari's handle first (and everyone seems to be rushing to transfer it over to Willow Smith), and in a lot of ways, it just seems lacking. Rihanna demands something new, something descriptive, something that manages to capture everything that makes her so sensational: her youth, her heritage, her effervescence. Also, on a selfish note, I am desperately looking for new ways to refer to her in stories. My job is hard sometimes.

Of course, coming up with suitable sobriquets is actually a lot tougher than you'd imagine. An honorary title must not only fit like a glove — could Aretha Franklin really be anything but the Queen of Soul? — but it must be earned. Elvis didn't become the King, overnight, after all. Yet I can think of no current star in need of a nickname more than Rihanna (is it any wonder that she once sang "What's my name?"). And since no one else seems to be stepping up, I've created a list of potential choices — nicknames befitting of a true star. Of course, if you've got one, let me know in the comments below. Like I said, nicknaming is hard work.

The 21st Century Girl: Works on two levels: One, it plays up the fact that Rihanna is basically the face of 21st-century pop: a multi-national, genre-bending, tech-crunching (have you seen her Twitter account?) superstar. Two, it is a play on that old T.Rex song, and T.Rex are awesome — just like Rihanna. Who cares if Willow Smith has a song by that name too? Rihanna is the 21st Century Girl.

The Admiral: Since she is the commanding officer of the Rihanna Navy. The only downside? David Robinson seemingly locked this one up back in 1986.

The Bajan Baroness, or the Baroness: If all the other royalty nicknames are taken (shoot, even Fergie is the Dutchess), well, then let's dub Rihanna the Baroness. Not only does it sound cool, but there's a certain badass swagger to it. I'm sure no one remembers the old G.I. Joe character at this point anyway.

The Caribbean Queen: You know, because Barbados is located in the Caribbean. And because Rihanna is a queen. Also brings to mind Billy Ocean, which is always a good thing.

The Divine Miss R: This one might piss off Bette Midler fans. Also, it seems sort of old-fashioned to refer to Rihanna as "Miss." Still, I think there's something to this one. It sort of captures her "respect the bitch" essence.

Lil' Sis, or Sis: Because she really seems like everyone's kid sister (and because Kid Sister was already taken). Fun, flirty and just a little bit fierce, just like Rihanna.

The Only Girl: A nod to one of her biggest hits, also the fact that she really is the only girl in the pop game worth caring about. In a pinch, could be shortened to "The One."

The Pride of Barbados: It's the national flower of her homeland. Also, people there are proud of her. Its scientific name is caesalpinia pulcherrima, so maybe also "'Pini"?

The Saint Michael Siren: Gives props to the Bajan parish where she was born and also pays tribute to her voice. Of course, also sort of paints her as a seductive bird woman who lured sailors to their death.

Which Rihanna nickname is your favorite? Or can you do better? Let us know in the comments!

Beyonce At VMAs And More Public Baby Reveals

Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez have also taken to live audiences to break the news.
By James Dinh

Beyoncé set Twitter on fire when she hinted on the VMA black carpet that she was set to make a big announcement, placing a hand on her stomach. Speculation turned into overwhelming joy when the pop superstar announced her pregnancy at the end of her "Love on Top" performance by unbuttoning her sparkling blazer and rubbing her noticeable bump.

Bey's public announcement came as a bit of a surprise, given that the songstress usually gets media-shy when asked anything about her personal life during interviews. MTV News reached out to pop-culture expert Rob Shuter, columnist for HuffPost Celebrity, for his thoughts on how she revealed the big news. "I thought it was so brilliant that somebody as private as Beyoncé and Jay-Z would make their own rules to address the fact that she's clearly pregnant," he said.

Shuter explained that the power couple's private nature made the revelation all the more joyous. "I love that this couple who has made it a policy to not talk about their personal life would once again do that, let us in on this huge secret, without ever really uttering any words."

Click for photos of Beyoncé's big VMA night.

Kim Kardashian, a real pro at living publicly, told MTV News that she admired B's choice of venue. "I thought it was really cool of her to come out and show that at the VMAs, 'cause music is her outlet. She could have done it with any magazine or news station, but she chose her home."

Beyoncé is now among the ranks of other starlets who have chosen creative venues to reveal the anticipated news. Take a look at how some other A-list moms revealed their baby bumps:

Britney Spears, 2006
Surprises come by the dozen when we're talking about Britney Spears' life and career, and she had another one up her sleeve when she took to "The Late Show With David Letterman" in May 2006 to confirm her second pregnancy with then-husband Kevin Federline. "Don't worry, Dave. It's not yours," the pop star laughingly told the late-night host after he circled around the question. Spears gave birth to her son Jayden James Federline that September and filed for divorce just two months later.

Jennifer Lopez, 2007
It was only appropriate that J.Lo chose a concert as her venue to announce that she and husband Marc Anthony were having a baby — he was the tour's co-headliner. "We didn't want to say anything before, because we didn't want to take away from the tour, but Marc and I are expecting," the pop star revealed to fans during the Miami stop of her El Cantante Tour. Anthony then turned to his wife, kissed her belly and told the crowd that he "did not expect her to say anything." Lopez gave birth to fraternal twins Emme and Maximilian Muñiz, in early 2008.

Ashlee Simpson, 2008
Ashlee Simpson and then-husband Pete Wentz make our list not because of their announcement but because of their steadfast policy before they made it: deny, deny, deny. Simpson even shied away from the question during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" as the pregnancy rumors were at their height. "Well, that has been going on for quite a while. That is something that I choose personally not to discuss," Simpson said, before cracking a joke about whether she looks like she can eat "10 cheese burgers or something." Almost a month later, the couple took to FriendsOrEnemies.com to confirm the news, writing, "While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child."

Jessica Alba, 2011
Some use their Facebook news feed to talk about work or current events. Some use it to talk with friends. Jessica Alba used it to announce her pregnancy to the world. "It's been a while since I've been on FB & I thought I'd drop by to let you all in on some exciting news>Honor is going to be a Big Sister!" the actress wrote in February. Just a couple weeks ago, Alba gave birth to a baby girl named Haven Garner Warren and, as expected, took to her Facebook profile to announce the news.

Post Your Well Wishes For Jay and Bey on Facebook.

Hilary Duff, 2011
Hilary Duff also favors the Internet for her personal revelations. In celebration of her one-year anniversary to husband Mike Comrie, the starlet offered fans with an extra special blog post. "I can't believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you're having fun!" she wrote on her website in mid-August. "We also want to share the exciting news that ...... BABY MAKES THREE!!!" Since then, the former Disney actress has taken to her Twitter to dish on her many pregnancy cravings: "Today it was rice crispy treats! trying really hard to give them ALL away!!!"

Which is your favorite celebrity pregnancy announcement? Share your thoughts below!

'Avengers' Team Is 'The Definition Of Family'

'Everybody is just an arm of the octopus,' Robert Downey Jr., tells Entertainment Weekly.
By Kara Warner

Avengers on the cover of Entertainment Weekly
Photo: Entertainment Weekly

For the most dedicated "Avengers" fans who've been paying attention to every story printed, photo leaked or fan video uploaded to YouTube, it's safe to say that nearly everything we know about the Joss Whedon-helmed superhero epic is pretty awesome.

Entertainment Weekly has assembled the star-studded cast on the cover of this week's issue, along with an accompanying cover story that offers yet another excitement-inducing glimpse into the makings of what could be next year's biggest movie.

Whedon told the mag that he fully understands the amount of pressure he's under to deliver but that he has to allow himself room for error. "Every day I make some boneheaded mistake and I go, 'Really? Wow. So no learning curve, huh?' There is a weird element of: They handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I'm making it up as I go." As far as the A-listers in the cast go, there have been learning curves on their end as well, like Mark Ruffalo feeling anxious about taking over the Hulk from predecessor Edward Norton.

"Norton and I are friends, and he was like, 'You've gotta do it, buddy.' He basically bequeathed it to me," Ruffalo said. "It was very cool and very generous of him."

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. revealed that he had to come to terms with the "sharing is caring" aspect of the ensemble film, versus pushing for his Tony Stark to be the centerpiece like in his "Iron Man" movies. "I said [to Whedon], 'I don't know what you're thinking, but Tony needs to drive this thing.' He was like, 'OK, let's try that.' We tried it, and it didn't work," Downey said. "Because this is a different sort of thing. Everybody is just an arm of the octopus."

That "octopus" — i.e. the ensemble cast that consists of Ruffalo's Incredible Hulk, Downey's Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Chris Evans' Captain America, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow — has become one big happy family, according to all parties involved.

"Joss describes it as the definition of family," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said. "These are people who have no business being together, but they are thrust together and need to make the best of it."

Check out everything we've got on "The Avengers."

'The Lion King' Maintains Box-Office Crown

Despite less-than-stellar reviews, Taylor Lautner's 'Abduction' comes in at #4.
By Ryan J. Downey

"Lion King 3-D"
Photo: Disney

Simba and company partied like it was 1994 at the box office over the weekend as "The Lion King" remained #1 for the second weekend in a row. The 3-D re-release beat back competition from four wide releases while hauling in another $22.1 million, according to studio estimates.

All four of the other movies in the weekend's top five were new releases, but none had the strength to topple the legendary Disney animated film, which has grossed $61.7 million domestically in its 3-D format alone.

Brad Pitt's "Moneyball" and the kid-friendly "Dolphin Tale" were in close competition for the #2 spot, while Taylor Lautner's "Abduction" (which has been savaged by film critics) and the action-centric "Killer Elite" (also not a critical darling) both failed to generate much excitement.

"Moneyball" was still just barely ahead of "Dolphin Tale" at press time. The baseball-centered flick has done well with critics, according to film review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, where it has a 94 percent critical average. The movie took in $20.6 million, just $340,000 more than "Dolphin Tale."

Lautner's first post-"Twilight" vehicle mustered just $11.2 million to land at #4 on the box-office chart. "Abduction" is one of the most poorly reviewed films of 2011, barely beating the 0 percent Tomatometer rating of recently released "Bucky Larson" with a paltry 3 percent.

"[Lautner's] not a terrible actor, but if he wants a career after the 'Twilight' fades, he'll pick better films," wrote Entertainment Weekly.

The combined star power of Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro generated just $9.5 million for "Killer Elite." The film is based on the book of the same name and marked the feature film debut of Irish writer/director Gary McKendry, who has directed commercials for IKEA, Porsche and Heineken.

There were a few limited releases of note over the weekend as well, including two that featured blockbuster marquee stars from comic book movies: "Machine Gun Preacher," with "300" hero Gerard Butler in the title role, and "Puncture," which features Captain America himself, Chris Evans.

Next weekend's new releases include the dramedy "50/50," which stars Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen, who cowrote the picture partly based on his own close friendship with a cancer survivor.

Check out everything we've got on "The Lion King" and "Moneyball."

Beyonce's Boyz II Men Sample On 'Countdown' Is 'Clever' Band Says

'I guess you can say we finally got our duet with Beyoncé,' Wanya Morris tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena

Nathan Morris and Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men
Photo: MTV News

When Beyoncé dropped 4 earlier this year, she paid homage to her roots by sampling Boyz II Men. The singer used the countdown portion of their track "Uhh Ahh" on her I'm-so-in-love party track "Countdown."

The song is all about the rapture of true love, with Beyoncé happily declaring her devotion to that special man in her life. So were the guys happy about her decision to include them on the album? "I thought it was very clever," Wanya Morris told MTV News earlier this week when he stopped by to chat about the latest Boyz II Men album, Twenty. "She's a clever artist. She's one of the best in the business right now. I guess you can say we finally got our duet with Beyoncé."

The guys are certainly having a moment this year, thanks to the sample and their work with Justin Bieber. They say that Beyoncé's decision to use their song on the lively track was pretty surprising, even though they have a bit of history with Queen B.

"It wasn't something we expected, but we do have a bit of a relationship," Nathan Morris explained. "A lot of people don't really know that when they had Destiny's Child, the first time they went on tour they opened up for us for quite a long time. And we tried our best to look after them and make sure everything was good. And back then they were incredible."

Even that long ago they knew Beyoncé stood out from the pack. "We all saw that she would wind up doing her thing," Morris added. "There is a connection, and at the end of the day we didn't know she would use that record. Game respects game, I guess you would call it."

Rihanna Drops 'We Found Love' Single

Calvin Harris-produced track is the first release from Rihanna's forthcoming album, due in November.
By Jocelyn Vena

Rihanna
Photo: Samir Hussein/WireImage

Rihanna has been amping up her fans for the release of her new single, "We Found Love." In a flurry of tweets on Wednesday, she shared with fans the lyrics to the Calvin Harris-produced track, as well as the single's cover art.

It all led up to the single's release on Thursday (September 22) morning on Facebook and the radio. As you would expect from a producer like Harris, "We Found Love" is a party-ready track. A synthy keyboard plays as Rihanna sings the opening lines of the song. It's a pretty sparse dance track that simply plays up her robotic-like vocals, a pulsing beat and a synth sound. The layers of the song are found in her vocals and Harris' production.

On the song, Ri sings about finding that special someone. "Yellow diamonds in the light/ And we're standing side by side/ As your shadow crosses mine/ What it takes to come alive/ It's the way I'm feeling, I just can't deny/ But I've gotta let it go," she sings on the first chorus.

The chorus simply features the line "We found love in a hopeless place" repeated four times. On the second verse, she sings, "Shine a light through an open door/ Love and life I will divide/ Turn away 'cause I need you more/ Feel the heartbeat in my mind/ It's the way I'm feeling, I just can't deny/ But I've gotta let it go."

For the art, Rihanna is punked out in a pompadour, loose-fitting jeans, chains, a denim jacket and chunky boots. She looks fiercely into the camera, arms crossed as she walks through the city.

Both Rihanna and Harris are giving the single four thumbs up. "Excited for people to hear the new @rihanna song, i can tell u she sounds like an #angel !" Harris tweeted.

After the song dropped, Rihanna had this message for her fans: "*pulls out glow stick*."

"We Found Love" serves as the lead single off Rihanna's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2010's Loud album. The album is set to drop in November.

Tony Bennett Scores First #1 On Billboard 200

Demi Lovato's Unbroken debuts at #4.
By Gil Kaufman

Tony Bennett
Photo: Getty Images

It only took him 60 years, but ageless crooner Tony Bennett will finally snag his first #1 debut on the Billboard album charts next week when his star-studded Duets II album wins the crown.

The disc, which features songs recorded with Lady Gaga and late British R&B diva Amy Winehouse, sold 179,000 copies in its first week, which was good enough to push last week's top seller — Lady Antebellum's Own the Night — down to #2, as sales trailed off by 64 percent to 125,000.

Leading the list of other debuts in the top 10 was Demi Lovato, who hit #4 with Unbroken (96,000), followed by Needtobreathe's Reckoning (#6, 49,000), Mindless Behavior's #1 Girl (#7, 36,000) Gavin DeGraw's Sweeter (#8, 34,000) and the soundtrack to Pearl Jam Twenty (#10, 27,000).

The rest of the top 10: Adele, 21 (#3, 117,000); Lil Wayne, Tha Carter IV (#5, 84,000); and Jay-Z and Kanye West, Watch the Throne (#9, 31,000).

Just outside the top 10, teen singer Cody Simpson's Coast to Coast EP landed at #12 (24,000), hard rockers Thrice hit #18 with Major/Minor (20,000) and Tori Amos came in at #24 with her latest, Night of Hunters (18,000). Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger's multi-culti super group, SuperHeavy, debuted at #26 with their self-titled debut (18,000), while Staind took a major 23-slot tumble to #28 as their self-titled album shed 68 percent of its first-week business on sales of 15,000.

Bennett couldn't quite pull off the double-play on the iTunes album chart, where Lovato was #1, followed by Adele and Needtobreathe. Bennett was in at #4, ahead of Lady Antebellum, Wayne, DeGraw, the soundtrack to the movie "Drive," pre-orders for Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto and Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More.

Maroon 5 continued their hot summer run with "Moves Like Jagger," which held on to the top spot on the iTunes singles chart, beating out Adele's "Someone Like You," Foster the People 's "Pumped Up Kicks," LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts" and LMFAO again with "Sexy and I Know It." Rihanna's "We Found Love" helped round out the chart at #7, in front of David Guetta's "Without You," Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink to That)" and Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I."

Look for debuts next week from J. Cole, Blink-182, Jason Derülo, Wilco, Mastodon and reissues from Nirvana and Pink Floyd.

Katy Perry's 'Firework': A VMA Cheat Sheet

Leading nominee got serious in the clip about staying true to yourself.
By Gil Kaufman

Katy Perry in her "Firework" video
Photo: EMI

We all know that Katy Perry's videos are a blast in a glass. But the most-nominated artist at the 2011 VMAs got serious for four minutes this year, and it helped cap a record-breaking run and made for one of the most visually arresting and inspirational clips of the year.

Perry is rolling into Sunday's show with nine nominations, including Video of the Year for "Firework," which is also nominated in the new Best Video With a Message category.

The California Gurl knew she wanted to make a very special clip for her favorite track from the smash Teenage Dream album, so she hooked up with veteran video director Dave Meyers (Pink, Kelly Clarkson, T.I.) on the project. And luckily for her, they were totally on the same page.

Meyers was looking to "play with [her] image a bit ... sort of demystify the candy-colored pop icon that she's become." He said he had to switch gears a bit, though, when the more toned-down "Teenage Dream" video came out. But with a bit of tweaking, he dug deep into the very personal song's message and came up with a new vision that Katy was totally onboard with. "We wanted to articulate the meaning of that song: what it means to be an underdog and have the courage, if you're on the outskirts of society, to be your own person," he said.

Packing off to Budapest, Meyers stationed Perry on the top of a building downtown and cast unknown, real teens in the clip -- which has been viewed more than 226 million times on YouTube -- to tell a variety of stories, from a boy in a physically abusive home to a girl who feels like a stranger in her own skin, a same-sex couple sharing a kiss and a teen suffering from cancer. All the while, Perry urges them to see the beauty inside, as her love, literally, explodes from her chest in a hail of sparks.

In the days leading up to the "Firework" premiere, Perry dedicated the video to the "It Gets Better" campaign, and she was thrilled that in the weeks following its release, the clip took on a life of its own, as a beacon of hope for everyone who's battled bullies or struggled to find themselves.

"I think that's why I wrote it, is because I really believe in people and I believe that people have a spark to be a firework," she told MTV News. "It's just up to them, and a lot of times it's only us that's standing in the way of reaching our goals, fulfilling our destinies, being the best version of who we possibly can be, so that's why I wrote it."

With fireworks bursting from her chest, Katy's call to power inspires the teens to burst with their own multicolored explosions of self-confidence and empowerment, providing a stunning, candy-colored finale in which more than 250 kids light up the sky thanks to their liberation from bad feelings.

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for Best New Artist by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

Lady Gaga Plays Yuyi In Third 'You And I' Fashion Film

Third of six fashion films for 'Yoü and I' features Gaga's mermaid character.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: BuzzFoto

Three down, three to go. Lady Gaga released her third "Yoü and I" fashion film, and this time she's portraying her mermaid incarnation, Yüyi.

The previous two videos took a closer look at her Nymph character and her Bride character from the original, full-length "Yoü and I" video.

The latest installment features a montage of behind-the-scenes shots of Gaga making her way out of her trailer as she is carried around the Nebraska set of her video to the barn where a majority of the video takes place. She's carried through the cornfields of Nebraska by two crew members.

Gaga is seen gyrating on the all-white set as Yüyi, bouncing on her director's chair and flopping around like the fish out of water her character is. The Inez-and-Vinoodh-directed video also features cameos by a bare-chested cowboy, one of the crew members who carried her around in the behind-the-scenes footage, and Nicola Formichetti, the singer's longtime stylist and Mugler creative director.

The clip closes out as Yüyi-fied Gaga and her crew make their way into the barn, where all the original "Yoü and I" magic took place. "It's like she really gives so much," Inez recalled of shooting the clips. "Sometimes we were shooting, it was like 3 a.m., and she's been on set forever and still you get an incredible performance — full of fire.

"It was exciting, it was intense. It was 108 degrees, but it was exciting because there's so much energy. We had great people around us," the fashion photographer added.

In addition to its Web debut late Tuesday, Formichetti tweeted an invitation to a premiere event for the new "Yoü and I" fashion film held at a New York pop-up store. The video premiered there on the eve of the store's closing.

Rihanna Confirms Next Single 'We Found Love'

Song title became a Twitter trend following Rihanna's announcement.

Rihanna was looking for love and it seems she found it, on her next single at least. As she gears up for the release of her sixth album later this year, the Loud singer has released the name of her next single.

On Monday, Rihanna confirmed the name of the first single off her forthcoming album, tweeting, "NP: "WE FOUND LOVE." Soon after she announced the name of the song, it became a Twitter trend, to which the singer responded, "We in dis bitch! ... 'We Found Love' is trending WORLDWIDE...!"

A rep for the singer confirmed to Rapup.com that the Calvin Harris-produced song will hit radio on October 11. Harris toured with Rihanna on a leg of her Loud outing earlier this summer. "Calvin is the perfect fit for the Loud tour. He is going to bring something unique and fun for the fans," Rihanna said at the time, according to JustJared.com.

Last week, Rihanna announced that her "GangstaR"-fied next album would be heavily influenced by club music, sharing on Twitter, "You KNOW how I been lovin Dubstep since Rated R."

Collaborators for the forthcoming project began dishing details on the LP months ago. Back in July, producer Verse Simmonds, who worked on Rihanna's reggae-infused hit "Man Down," talked to MTV News' Mixtape Daily about the album's progress.

"From what I understand, she's closing the album up now, and we did two records for her that she really, really loved, and I'm really excited about them as well," Simmonds said. "They are records that we wrote and produced as the Jugganauts." Simmonds admitted that he was "99.999 percent" sure that his Jugganauts' contributions will make the final cut, adding that his tunes on the LP will not sound similar to "Man Down."

But Rihanna isn't keeping all the magic to herself. She's also set to appear on Coldplay's next album, Mylo Xyloto, on the track "Princess of China." "Well, her bit on our record is my favorite bit ... when the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it. And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we've been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music," Chris Martin explained. "Because from where we're sitting, it seems like you can try and sound any way you like nowadays. You don't have to be in a rock box or a hip-hop box or a pop box, and I think it's fun when you embrace that idea."

Justin Bieber Records With Boyz II Men: The Photo Evidence!

As if the Twitter back-and-forth weren't enough to get fans excited for their Christmas-themed collaboration, MTV News now has photo evidence of Justin Bieber and Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman in the studio together.

In the photo, both guys are seen looking casual in baseball caps and T-shirts. They shared a high-five in the studio, which was even decorated with Christmas lights.

The guys had a bit of a Twittermance post-session that had the veteran Boyz reminding the teen phenom to never forget the wisdom they shared with him. And whatever that advice was, it certainly made an impression on Bieber. "I'm not gonna forget. THANK U!!" he tweeted.

Bieber has a busy fall ahead of him. As he readies the release of his Christmas album, he's also getting ready to hit the road in South America and Mexico. "Back in the studio putting the finishing touches on this Christmas album and getting the tour stuff together," he tweeted.

The tour will kick off later this month in Mexico and will make its way around South America, including stops in Brazil and Argentina. He'll wrap up the stint at the end of October. He's pretty much off the road until December and January, when he has two stops planned in Illinois.

"Seeing all the love for the S AMERICAN fans ... tour is less than a month away. Who got tickets in BRAZIL? in Argentina? in Mexico? in Chile?" he tweeted.

Lindsay Lohan Locks Role In 'Gotti' Flick

After some momentary drama on Wednesday, when it seemed that Lindsay Lohan's role in the mob family biopic "Gotti: Three Generations" was in jeopardy, it was confirmed later that the embattled starlet would still be in the film.

Originally up for the role of Victoria Gotti, Lohan is now set to play the wife of John Gotti Jr., Kim Gotti. "I'm really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do," Lohan said about the casting, according to The Associated Press. "I think it's such an iconic story. I think it's a great story to be told. I'm honored to be working with John Travolta and Joe Pesci."

The movie's producer, Marc Fiore, explained to People.com that it was Lohan herself who managed to make sure she got cast in the flick. "She was definitely out as of earlier today, but she really wanted the part," he said. "She not only is back in the movie, but she single-handedly put it all together. She called me personally and put her team on it, and we came to an agreement."

Lohan, who was originally rumored to be a part of the movie earlier this month, said that she looks forward to playing the role because "you don't get to see the heart behind the story and the real side of people. I can relate to that because I think that I've been portrayed in a certain light. I just want to do my best to show what their family really went through."

Michael Jackson Tribute Concert To Be Hosted By Jamie Foxx

While the show has not yet added any more big names, the upcoming Michael Forever Tribute concert, honoring the legacy of late pop icon Michael Jackson, now has an award-winning host. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx has signed on to emcee the October 8 concert in Cardiff, Wales.

The show, which is being put together by Jackson's mother, Katherine, as well as a few of the late King of Pop's siblings — but not the singer's estate — is slated to feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo, Craig David, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Alien Ant Farm and Motown legend Smokey Robinson.

And though Beyoncé was added to the bill recently, some fans were upset to subsequently learn that the pregnant pop queen will not perform live via satellite as originally promised but appear in a pretaped segment described as a "special contribution on video."

In addition, some Jackson followers on the Fans Against Michael Forever Tribute Facebook page have expressed their anger that promoters announced an upcoming two-for-one ticket deal to goose reportedly slow sales. According to reports, the discounted prices will not apply to tickets already purchased for the event; conflicting reports also stated that the two-for-one deal had been rescinded. A spokesperson for the event told MTV News that there would be no two-for-one ticket package.

Some disgruntled posters have also complained that the show's promoter, Global Live Events, is reportedly censoring negative fan comments on the show's official page. There has also been grumbling from some of Jackson's siblings — including Janet, Jermaine and Randy — and fans about the timing of the show, which will take place in the midst of the manslaughter trial of Jackson's physician Dr. Conrad Murray.

Nirvana's Nevermind, By The Numbers

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic album, we crunch the numbers to measure its huge impact.
By James Montgomery

Twenty years ago today (September 24), Nirvana released Nevermind, and the world hasn't been the same since.

The album would go on to usher in rock's great renaissance, cause a seismic shift in popular culture, bring the underground to the mainstream and make unwilling stars out of three rather scruffy guys from the Pacific Northwest (OK, so Dave Grohl was technically from Northern Virginia, but he lived in Seattle while they were making the album).

And while we'd like to say the earth shifted slightly on its axis the moment that first box of Neverminds was cracked open, we'd be exaggerating. Back then, Nirvana were relative unknowns, and with popular music dominated by the likes of Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and Color Me Badd (not to mention rock behemoths like Metallica and Guns N' Roses), the odds of them making an impact of any sort seemed long, at best.

Of course, we all know how things turned out. All week long, we've been paying tribute to Nevermind's 20th anniversary on MTVNews.com, but today, the album's actual birthday, we've decided to honor its legacy in a slightly different way: by crunching the numbers. Because unlike the countless biographies, as-told-to features and behind-the-scenes tell-alls that came in the album's wake, the numbers don't exaggerate: Nevermind was (and still is) huge. Even if it probably never was supposed to be. Here are some vital stats about Nirvana's seminal album:

7,305: Number of days since Nevermind was released. In case you're wondering, that's 175,320 hours, or 10,519,200 minutes, or 631,152,000 seconds.

46,521: Number of copies of Nevermind originally shipped to retailers by Geffen Records, which hoped the album would eventually sell 200,000 copies.

144: Nevermind's debut position on the Billboard Top 200.

9: Number of weeks after its release that Nevermind was certified platinum (for shipment of 1 million units) by the Recording Industry Association of America.

1: Nevermind's position on the Billboard Top 200 during the week of January 11, 1992, when it overtook Michael Jackson's Dangerous to become the nation's highest-selling album.

253: Total number of weeks Nevermind spent on the Billboard Top 200.

30 million: Number of copies Nevermind has sold, worldwide. In the U.S., it's certified as diamond by the RIAA, for shipment of 10 million copies.

0: Number of Grammys Nevermind won (it was nominated for two).

4:30: Total length of first single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit." The album version runs 5:01, making it the second-longest song on Nevermind (after aptly named hidden track "Endless, Nameless").

9: Number of times Kurt Cobain shouts "a denial" at the end of "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

6: Highest position "Smells Like Teen Spirit" held on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

$670 million: Amount, in cash and stock, Colgate-Palmolive paid to acquire Mennen, manufacturers of Teen Spirit anti-perspirant, in February 1992, six months after the release of "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

2: Fragrances of Teen Spirit currently available: "Sweet Strawberry" and "Pink Crush." During the height of the brand's popularity, there were as many as 10.

$30,000-$50,000: Estimated budget of the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video.

$7 million: Estimated budget of Michael and Janet Jackson's "Scream" video, widely reported to be the most expensive of all time.

18-25: Age of extras in the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video, according to the casting call. Extras were instructed to "adapt a high-school persona, i.e. preppy, punk, nerd, jock" and "be prepared to stay for several hours."

4: Number of nominations "Smells Like Teen Spirit" received at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards. It won two, for Best Alternative Video and Best New Artist in a Video.

1: Number of nominations "Weird" Al Yankovic's "Smells Like Nirvana" received at the same show.

$50,000,000: Amount earned by the Kurt Cobain Estate in 2006, when he topped Forbes magazine's annual Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list 12 years after his suicide.

MTV News reveals the Nevermind You Never Knew, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's definitive album with classic footage, new interviews and much more.
