Chelsea Settles kicked off her self-titled MTV reality show praising another reality starlet: the ubiquitous Kim Kardashian. It seems that the 24-year-old admires Kim's drive, which has established her as an unstoppable small-screen brand. And, despite any criticisms one might have for the E! star, Settles has only the highest praise for her.

"She's brilliant! The entire family is brilliant," she gushed to MTV News. "She's about her business, and she's really driven, and she's focused, and she has this confidence, and she's just ... amazing."

Settles credits a gene that the entire Kardashian clan possesses. "It's not just Kim; it's baby Mason, the whole clan, everyone," she said. "I was surprised [by the divorce news] but she has a strong family and a good support system, so I know she'll get through it. She just maybe needs to take some time away from the cameras, hide out. She can come to my house: We have room."

First, Settles might have to clear that guest with her roommate, Jenna. On this week's episode, her L.A. roomie used some tough love to try to help the aspiring fashionista get out of the house and on the social scene. Her social life — or, rather, lack thereof — is something Chelsea struggles with on the series, and this particular confrontation with Jenna was especially hard-hitting given a traumatizing club outing in the show's first episode.

"I've never had a roommate before, so it was hard getting used to living with another person, but Jenna was great. She really took me under her wing," she said. "It was hard for me to embrace all that, because she is so open and bubbly and I love her, but at that point, I was like, 'Is it genuine? What's really going on here?'

"It's her trying to get me to break out of my shell more and wanting to hang out with her friends, and I don't really do that, obviously. We see where that got me in the first episode. It was hard for me to go through that again."

Chelsea is well aware of the how down she seems at times on the show, so she hopes that fans will be able to see more sides of her before the season ends. "[I'd love to see] some fun! Fun and enough of the tears and just me coming into my own and gaining some confidence," she said, laughing. "It is brutal watching these first couple episodes; it is really hard."

Don't miss the next episode of "Chelsea Settles," airing Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET/PT (10 Central) on MTV.
