Katy Perry isn't ready to let the Teenage Dream era go. She's readying her sixth single from the album, the sentimental midtempo track "The One That Got Away."

Billboard reports that the singer's label has confirmed the track's release. Of the decision to release another song from the album, Greg Thompson, an EMI Music/Capitol Records EVP/marketing and promotion rep, told the mag, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Boasting production and writing credits from Dr. Luke and Max Martin (with a co-writing assist from Perry herself), the track is all about her first love. On the track's chorus, she pines, "In another life, I would be your girl/ We keep all our promises, be us against the world/ And in another life, I would make you stay/ So I don't have to say you were the one that got away."

While she's a pop princess, Perry also calls out her love for artists like Radiohead and Johnny Cash on the song, which appears to be about another musician. "Someone said you had your tattoo removed," she sings. "Saw you downtown singing the blues/ It's time to face the music/ I'm no longer your muse."

The track will hit radio next month. So far, Perry's already found plenty of success with her previous five Teenage Dream singles, with every one topping the chart. The California Gurl matched Michael Jackson's record with the feat, and if this track should also go to #1, she would best the King of Pop.

The label added that Luke may "touch up" the track for the radio and that Perry is "reading treatments" for a video. "If it goes to #1, that would be great," Thompson told Billboard. "If not, we still have a Katy song on the radio in fourth quarter."
